Taking on her animal form was typically something that Elwine only reserved for work related causes. More often than not, she thought of herself more of an angel, than of a cat. It was one of the few things she had always questioned about her creator–why was is that she and her twin were formed as such dull creatures? Especially ones with such irritating instincts?
Oh certainly the enhanced senses were useful but the desire to often sleep, to chance after inconsequential things, how she could cave if scratched behind the ears and other minor (and one not so minor) predilections caused her no end of irritation.
Yet it was advantageous to take on this form. Her white wings and halo brought her quite a lot of attention when she was on the surface world. People tended to gravitate to an angel quite a lot–either to seek out trouble, or to seek out aid. Like this she looked like a cat of no consequence, and most gave her nothing more than a passing glance.
At home, however? Needless to say, her being an angel would mean nothing. Cats were significantly more scarce--indeed, animals as a whole were, unless they were on someone’s plate.
She’d been perched on a roof, surveying the busy streets below when someone in particular caught her eye. She had seen this girl before. She was one of Fumus’ special visitors--he always told them to treat them with the highest respect, but like with so many things he was quite reticent about who they were exactly.
....
Maybe it was time she found out. With ease the cat jumped down from her post and approached the starry bunny, winding between her legs without reservation.
