There isn't a lot on astral weapon and a lot of what I've found has been in the lines of "you can create in astral! Any weapon you want!!". That's true. You can make any weapon you want. But what isn't talked about very often as well is that you don't *have* to make an astral weapon to have astral weapons. In my experience? We come with weapons as well. Everyone has at least one set they don't have to build, or find, or create. A set that feels as natural as breathing. Not to say that it isn't work. Because it is. You have to learn to maintain them, to use them and to call them. But a lot of beginners who have problems manifesting things in astral don't think weapons are available to them. I'm not sure if they're weapons from previous lives that our very beings remember or if impressions are formed in us from a young age. I just know that so far everyone has one. Regardless of skill level. These weapons are also the best for beginners to astral weaponry because they are, on some level, intuitive.

Yesterday, whilst answering some of the asks I received for one of those themed ask memes, I stumbled across a term that I havenāt seen before. āAstral weapons.ā
My first thought was probably very similar to what some of yours are now:

I have conducted my own research into this and have discovered, that Astral Weapons are exactly what the name says.
They are weapons of your choice (Swords! Swords! Swords!) that are carried into other astral realms and planes whenever your astral body leaves your physical body. Note, however, that these weapons are not of this plane.
Nuh-uh. Astral Weapons are made up of an energy source of your choice and are projected through visualisation, e.g., once your physical and astral bodies have separated and your higher-self is quite happily travelling, you then use your preferred visualisation technique to manifest your chosen weapon.
Why would I need an astral weapon?
Good question.
When youāre travelling or projecting, you are entering a new plane of existence not inhabited by physical beings and bodies; AT/AP requires you to exist on two separate planes of consciousness simultaneously.
Because of this, both of your bodies - your physical body and the astral one thatās doing all the travelling - are more vulnerable than they would usually be.
Your higher-self may be susceptible to what are known as āattacksā from unpleasant entities that also exist within the astral planes.
These āattacksā will hit right at your energy source and may end up draining you, and putting you at risk. You must remember that your separate bodies are stronger together (two heads are better than one!), and thus weaker apart. If your higher-self is attacked and you have no means of defending and protecting yourself, you may not be strong enough to return to your physical body, and if you do manage to get back, you will feel real-life, physical side effects, such as being exhausted, aching/in pain, and you may feel emotionally unstable or even drained.
In short:
Astral Weapons are a means of protection that are created by the traveller (you).
They are created by visualisation: use your best visualisation technique to harness your own energy, and create a weapon of your choice.
Oh yeah, you heard me. A weapon of your choice.
These weapons are used to stop attacks from entities who seek to harm you or drain you of your energies whilst roaming astral planes.

I conjured the sword during astral projection; one second I had no weapon, then I conjured this to defend myself, but as soon as I had finished defending - it disappeared again. I don't know whether this can get me more help with this?
Well, I donāt have much experience with the astral, but from what Iāve read, this may be simply your kind of astral weapon. I think that if I were in your place, the next time I went travelling/projecting, Iād try to conjure it again and see if it comes in the same shape. Or perhaps itās nature is that it can only be conjured when you need it? I also think the way it looks may be meaningful only to the person who conjured it. Iād read up on astral weapons, too.
Iām going to tag @greenspell, since from what I know she has dealings with astral.Ā
Also, perhaps someone can share some articles or resources regarding this?

Now this is a bit of an interesting question. Weapons in the astral can take on many forms and shapes, but there are a few things that i've learned because of personal experience and speaking to my guard Methorim about weapons.
First are the regular weapons. Swords, knives, staffs, etc. that are made and sold pretty much everywhere. These are the cheap-moderate priced weapons and don't really offer much besides something solid in their owner's hand. These can have runes or sigils or whatever other kind of inscribed magic put on them to give them a little boost, but the materials themselves don't really offer anything extra. These can be used for any and all purposes.
Then come the higher quality weapons. Moderate-expensive priced weapons because of the materials used. unique materials that give unique battle capabilities. Staffs that can bend like rubber, knives that can shoot out the blade attached to a living tongue of a venomous creature, etc. The materials used in the weapons give unique properties to the weapons, but they are still generally sold and pretty much anyone can use them with practice.
Then you have the unique weapons. These weapons are made uniquely with rare materials or magics and unlike other weapons they are personal. The weapon when completed can connect to their owner and they are unusable by anyone else or at least resist being used by anyone else and they have their own types of personalities. Weapons like this are called "battle weapons." The name comes from the fact because these weapons are so powerful that they will refuse to be trained with. They will 'bite' at their owners if they try to train with them, but they are loyal and strong and they have the unique ability to be summoned by their master. Weapons like this are normally named and enhanced the power of their master.
