Hopper coming back from the Upside Down and realizing that the absolute worst thing that could ever happen to him is to be separated from the people he cares about, so finally after a lot of deliberating and awkwardness, he writes a letter to El and Mike about how he realizes he was wrong for trying to keep them apart after they had already had such a difficult time being apart from each other when he was trying to keep her safe, and how he still wants to keep her safe but not at the expense of her happiness, so he is going to let them see each other on a more regular basis, but he wants to make sure that she knows to be careful and that if anything happens she can always talk to him about it and he doesn’t want to be the reason she's hurting just from his selfish reasons because he really wants her to be happy, and if that means he has to see Mike around more often, then... he can learn to like Mike more too. and maybe they can all three do things together some time? if they’d want that. yeah.
