Brazil. The last time Ana had been here was sometime during the Omnic Crisis - a difficult intervention that had led her to pull Jack out of danger (very literally, by the collar of his coat and up like a kitten being dragged out of harm’s way by its mother) and been the cause of a few scars she had retained to this day. After that, Brazil had only been a distant memory, occasionally diplomatic partners she only dealt with on a yearly summit of world leaders. 

Until the past few years, when a young DJ had seemingly launched a revolution within his own country gangrened by corruption. A story Ana had followed from afar, to the rhythm of headlines making news of Vishkar’s mishaps while Lucio rose to international superstar and freedom fighter. Truly an inspiring story; certainly one that had made Ana smile with a sense of satisfaction every time she heard of a new success from the young man. He did with music in Brazil what she was trying to do in Egypt with her rifle. How could she not silently nod in approval?

Until she was contacted for a contract. Shrike, out of all people, was tasked by a third party to get into Lucio’s facilities, sabotage his equipment, steal back the technology he had taken from Vishkar... and, if necessary, incapacitate him on a more or less permanent basis. 

So here she was, in Rio De Janeiro, having just successfully broken into his home without triggering any alarm - an art at which she had come to excel with the years, stealing a trick or two from Blackwatch on the way out. Quietly, she moved through the house, attentive to any noise, peering through the darkness with the help of the night vision incorporated in her mask. Finally, she perceived movement in another room, and light filtering under the door. There he was. Her rifle strapped on her shoulder, Ana looked around and noticed a book on the living room’s coffee table. With the cheekiness of a cat, she knocked it off, letting it fall to the floor with a loud thump.
