Thousands Of Times
âFor My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,â declares the Lord. âAs the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways âŚMy thoughts than your thoughts.â Isaiah 55:8-9NIV
People often exclaim, âGod isnât just or fair!â âWhy didnât God heal my _______?â âIf God loves me, why didnât He save my marriage.â âHow can a loving God allow child abuse?â âCan God be good and allow evil to happen, or is He powerless to prevent evil?â
These questions fuel the fire of the atheistsâ cause Christians to compromise their faithâ give a false impression of Godâs responses to prayersâ bring doubt. These all fulfill satanâs purposes
Job suffered troublesâ children all killed (Job 1:18-19); thieves stole everything murdering his servants (Job 1:15-17); his own body putrefied with boils (Job 2:7-8); his wife told him to curse God (Job 2:9). He contended his innocence to his supposed friends, expecting God to declare him sinless (Job 2-27).
Truthâ God allowed Jobâs testing. I donât like God baiting satan saying, âHave you considered my servant Job?âŚâJob 1:8. A merciful, loving God wouldâve kept these horrors from happening? But Yahweh didnât do âmyâ expectations. At the end of Godâs testing, He asked Job: âWho is this that obscures My plans with words without knowledge?⌠âWhere were you when I laid the earthâs foundation?âŚâ Job 38:3-4NIV. Yahweh didnât apologize.
We become Jobâs friends whenever we tell anyone: ââthese are the steps to faith. You just didnât exercise them correctly.â â to the person whose marriage is destroyed, âyou didnât pray enough.â â to tell the grieving spouse, âsorry you didnât enough faith for healing.â Truth isâ God looks at the complete picture, totally different than what we look at.
A lady acquaintance divorced her drug abusing husband. Between children, working, her schooling, housing, utilities, finances were impossible to manage. She threw herself onto the Lordâs care for absolutely everything. Dead broke, her gas was turned off. Life looked bleak. Her heartâs cry came before the Lord. âHow could You, Almighty God, fail one totally dependent on You?â Money arrived the next dayâ too late to keep the gas on. She paid the gas, but the gas company refused to turn on her water heater. A relative came to help and light the water heater. What he found, saved her and the childrenâs lives. A bird had somehow died in the water heaterâs flue, totally blocking any exhaust. Godâs âneglectâ was wisdom, protecting them from carbon-monoxide poisoning.
Thousands of times, over the last twenty months, Iâve questioned God. âWhen are You going to deliver us from evil?â âWhy have You allowed hatred to rule?â âArenât You going to put an end to COVID-19.â âWill You protect us from the jab and planned extermination?â âHow much are You going to allow them to get by with?â Is the day coming soon, when You ride in on Your white horse to rescue us? He says: âwhen are you going to fight the evil in order for Me to help you? Start boycotting?â
Even though I donât understand any of these things, Iâm assured: âAll things work together for the good of them that love the Lord and those called according to His purposes.â Romans 8:28KJV. In all instances, we must realizeâ Godâs not dead, keep trusting. As long as we're breathing, hope and believe. He doesnât think like we do. His plan will work out. The alternative? Quit believing. Be positive nothing good will come and receive whatâs been believed for. Will we trust God? Itâs your choice. You choose.
PRAYER: Papa God in the face of all of the bad in the world, we choose to believe You are good and will do good for us. Help us to trust You to somehow create good out of these evil situations, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

No power in the universe can rob you of it; none, but yourself, can even diminish it. âYour joy no man takes from you.â What the power, or love, or presence of man can create â the power, or hatred, or absence of man can destroy. But, the joy of the believer has a different origin, and, as no man bestowed it, so no man can take it away. It has God for its author â the living Rock of Ages for its ever-flowing fountain â the Holy Spirit for the golden channel, which it conveys into the heart. Thus, coming from the fountain of joy, it is of immortal origin â and, is far above the reach of mortal enemies. All the sorrows of earth â all the temptations of hell, are vain against this joy. So far from being diminished by what would crush earthly happiness, and reduce the stoutest heart, without Divine grace, to hopeless dejection â it is only realized more fully, amid the raging fury of the hurricane, or the dreary gloom of a starless midnight.
