iāve been thinking and i personally donāt want asriel to come home from college drastically different compared to when he left. sorryy itās your weird darkner spiritual successorās turn to reclaim her role in the narrative and the way people perceive her, and if you did the same it could undermine her arcš„°. besides, you had your chance to escape the representation of the fictional world and its limits in your own game. stay in your coffin i like watching you suffer
posting bc i mostly agree and to give context for this: i think dess dropped striped shirts at like 10. asriel was still wearing them in the pre-dessappearance era because heās an idiot baby (assuming heās middle school aged in the flashback)
twitter users when toby describes hyperdeath asriel as an adult instead of retelling his entire backstory in the blurb of a piece of concept art
toby please make it clear that dessriel was either not a thing or (more preferably, since the former will realistically only ward off a fraction of these people) had something less than ideal/otherwise completely unfit for heteronormative trash going on in chapter 5

itās one of those nights where i look at web weaves so i can try to apply parts of them to my blorbos š
iāve implicitly posted about this project before, but back in spring I got an idea for a prequel centered on charaās story. for a few months I made some ātobycoreā concept art, learned how to use rpgmaker, and searched for preexisting fanmusic/covers for soundtrack ideas before deltaruneās release stopped me dead in my tracks. iāve thought about the project since then but havenāt really gotten any new ideas and decided a lot of what was going on writing-wise sucked. iād like to get back to this someday though, especially in light of the livestream. hereās a lot of what i made
these are sprite sheets. obviously i never finished the asriel one and chara barely counts as a spritesheet. not much to say here
in a lore sense I think chara had save power just because all the humans did (toriel experiencing deja vu with more than one fallen human, the fact that the files associated with floweyx are āfile8ā and āfile9ā despite the lack of real world ut files labeled 1-7) but I also donāt know if that compliments their story very well. i think there were going to be save points that chara was too afraid/confused to use outside of healing.
an attempt to make a tile for one room and an idea for unique ui graphics. between the fact that making a good spare system in rpgmaker is impossible (for me) and thinking more about the story direction, i really donāt if there should be regular combat now. that being said:
a test talksprite and another combat idea. my vision was/is that in battle or other style breaks theyād look like an even more chibi version of the way they do in the memory cutscene. party members would refuse to actually FIGHT; the button would be an impulsive thought at least and someone pretending to attack to intimidate an enemy at most. because rpgmaker, the attacks would be unavoidable numbers instead of bullets.
while you still make decisions, asriel would really be holding the reins in combat; giving chara more advice than the player needs and making sure they donāt ever die.
