How do you host evente? Kinda like your engiespy week. I've had an idea for one but I don't know how to put it into action.
A ship week event is a relatively simple event from my one time running one. You really just have to make and post the prompts, have a defined time and event tag, and then reblog the submissions. If it’s a different kind of event, I don’t have any experience with that.

I've been thinking about doing commissions for the first time. How should a beginner go about it all? Like prices and stuff.
well, i think it all really depends on you, your art, how you work, and what you’re comfortable with.Â
really solid advice, which you’ll hear and see p much anywhere you look for comm advice, is to price by min wage+ (so like $8+) per hr it takes you to complete a piece. so just setting a wage for yourself like a regular job yanno?Â
or if you’re really inconsistent with how long it takes you to complete pieces (like me) you could just set static prices for your art. as far as setting good, accurate, and fair prices for your art?? that’s the hard part.Â
i’ve personally been told by friends/commissioners that i’m underselling my art and that’s true but it’s also smth i’m okay with bc 1. i’m self-taught and my art tends to be inconsistent so i don’t feel comfortable charging more for things that may come out differently each time 2. i mostly sell to my friends/ppl i know and i don’t feel good charging them a lot jhgfdsfghj and 3. commissions are a side hustle, not a full-time gig. fortunately, i have a job now so i’m no longer scraping by with commissions, rather they’re helping pad my income
so i think just consider the situation you’re in and go for what feels best & makes the most sense to you. you can always change your prices later if you want or need to!
