Honestly what isn’t there to not like Kaede? She was a different take on the Danganronpa protagonist format, even though she technically isn’t the first female protagonist in the franchise and while I’m not on the “She should have been the main character all the way instead of Shuichi” train, I am sad she had to die. I do understand why they made Chapter 1 of V3 the way they did though, to showcase nobody, absolutely nobody is safe in a Killing Game.
Not even the protagonist, and for understandable reasons it’s my favourite Chapter 1 of any Danganronpa game, both canon and fangan because you do not expect it to happen. Talk about a way to make a brilliant first impression on the player.
And thanks to her Danganronpa fans join the Pokémon fans of being traumatised by pianos. But look at this way, if she gets shafted by canon, fans can pick up the slack as Survivor really does her justice, her savage beatdown on Kanade there is one of the best moments of the blog. The fact she managed to make the Korekiyo knock-off feel fear for the first time ever, is a massive W. And I’m confident she will train Hibiki well.
