A magic amulet of counterspell (or any other spell for that matter)
It's comprised of a magic stone with the runes to cast counterspell engraved on it. This is placed inside a magic dampening frame (in order to "filter out" the ambient mana)
It works by having mana put into the stone which once it gets to a certain concentration the runes are activated, casting counterspell.
This can also take the form of an enemy attacking with magic.
Once the counterspell is activated it dissipates the mana of the attacking spell causing it to fail
How plausible do you think this would be to make

Sorry for the late response, friend, I had a meeting with the orcs today and it looks like your message got lost amongst my supplies.
Admittedly I'm not an expert on metalworking or weapons, I've only ever been privvy to them when using things for survival. But, despite this, I do like the idea of a barrier against magic...my only concern would be whether or not it was truly safe to work with. If it gets jostled or removed, does it backfire? Where does it's ability come from? Is it affected differently by specific contact with different metals, heat, magnetism, the cold, water?
There's a lot that goes into making a weapon work best. While the idea has got legs, you've gotta make sure there's no obstacles in the way so it can learn to run. Have you spoken with Marcille about such a thought? If such an amulet does exist, she may be able to help with answerin' some of those questions.
Oh, but remember-- magic ain't all the world has to offer, even when protecting you from other magic. Sometimes, a weapon or tool does its best work when it's simple and reliable.

A chowder...! Now, that is an idea! I have always been a fan of breads, and garlic pairs fantastically with pasta. The roasted vegetables that Kabru mentioned wanting would be the exact sort of side for such a meal, too.
Say, do walking mushrooms ever cook things for themselves? I wasn't sure that they had mouths. But, perhaps if you do, there may be some way for you to have some for yourself!
