What would you say to someone that’s been in a certain community; but the more he learns he doesn’t think he still feels that way.

personally, i don't really put myself in a community, so i don't really know - but i can try my best. (i know im an age regression blog but every time i sign in i see 8472747275 new tags for communities i didn't know existed within it, so i just say im a regressor and leave it there!)

i think he should take some time to consider that being part of a community doesn't define who you are/what you like. communities are nice - they can help you feel assured that you're liking the same thing as a group of people and therefore can be quite daunting when you decide you're no longer part of that community. admitting that you're not really lining up with it anymore can be hard - but also great!

you can give yourself the opportunity to become your own community! being in a community shouldn't be your defining factor in who you are, if you like certain things and don't "fit" anywhere, so what?

you're human, you don't have to go in a box. if you don't want to be a part of things anymore, that's fine. take your time to think about it. or, maybe there's another community out there for him! have a look and see.

what notebooks do you use for notes?

I exclusively use Rhodia DotBooks which are kind of pricey and hard to find. I can only find them at my local pen store or if I ask my uni’s bookstore to special order them from me (rare).

I prefer dot paper over lined because I like 5mm ruling more than standard 7mm and Kokuyo paper isn’t very fountain pen friendly (if you like wet pens like me). These are the only ring bound A4 size dot notebooks I know of. I also use Rhodia Dotpads in A4 for rewriting notes when I study for exams.
