Yeah, Raiders're all about the booze and chems. 'Cause Raiders are stupid, focusin' on the right now and livin' for the moment, winding up dead over stupid mistakes 'n impulsive decisions. They decide they gotta have it all, right now. All the booze, all the chems, all the caps, and they don't care how they get it. That kinda thinking never works out well, I've seen that truth firsthand many times before. I'd hate to see a perfectly good Overboss start to lose track of what matters most 'n get too crazy.

Shit, I'd probably have no choice but to fight back. If they all of a sudden turned on me, without a single word on why, I'd feel very betrayed. We spent our whole time buildin' this place from the ground up. Why go through the trouble if yer just gonna go around like it's open season?

I mused, leaning back in my seat in Fizztop Grille in front of one of the large windows overlooking the main section of the amusement park. I took a long drag from the cigarette, loosely hanging between my pointer and middle finger’s first knuckles. I couldn’t help but draw from the overwhelming and pleasurable fixation of the stoge, exhaling. I flicked the cigarette, the cherry glowing as loose ash sprinkled from the small white stick.
The sight I saw before me was not the sight I’d originally started with, years ago, stumbling on this fantastical wasteland. To my amusement and satisfaction, this shit hole turned into something even more special. It became our shithole, cared for in a way us Raiders would have never done, had The Overboss not walked The Gauntlet. The Overboss did well on their promise, giving the raiders of Nuka World a place they could confidently call their turf, and I was insanely proud and relieved of the fact. Shit, had this gone South, I’d be skinned alive by the Raider Bosses long ago. Or blown to bits by The Overboss once they realized they were helping a bunch of stupid Raiders.
But things had gone according to plan, smooth as butter, and after months of hard work and dedication, I felt like I hadn’t heard a single complaint in about a week. Music to my ears, in fact.
Hell, I myself found myself cozying into the back section of Fizztop Grille, which The Overboss had completely refurbished to be my area. Gestures like that made me wish I organized Colter’s death sooner, but I think we were damn lucky for our current Overboss to wander in our trap, as it is.
I was impressed, damn it. It was near peaceful in the park, now, and things were never this good before The Boss came around.
I heard familiar footsteps behind me, but my eyes remained on the view as the sun started to fall, casting an orange glow on the sight. “Gage?”
My ear twitched at the familiar voice, slightly turning my head to the left, pausing. “Yeah, Boss?” I took another drag, inhaling deeply as my throat and lungs tingled, a burning, blissful sensation. Damn, it’d been too long since it’d had the time to thoroughly enjoy a smoke.
“You wanna take 30, and then get back to it, or would you rather pick up again tomorrow?” The Overboss asked. Considerate, even. Shit, Gage still felt surprised by the genuine trust and kindness in The Overboss’s voice, and strangely, this was one of the traits that reminded him that they were alive two hundred years ago, way before Gage was even born. Shit, we were ahead of schedule by months - years, even, if we went by Colter’s standards of change.
The corner of my mouth twitched as I smirked. I couldn’t ever find myself relaxing for too long. We’d save that for later. “I’ll take a 30, ‘n then we’ll get right back to it.”
The Overboss walked around the back of my chair, taking the identical seat next to me, admiring the same view I had found myself enamored by. They smiled and then turned their attention to me, taking a pack of pre-war cigarettes from their pocket, flicking the lid open and sliding a pristine, white stick out. “You got a light?”
Do you know what autism is? If you do how do you feel about it? Are there raiders at nuka world with autism?
Sure, I know what Autism is. I will admit, took me some learnin' out of The Overboss' pre-war book to fully understand spectrum disorders. What I gathered, through life-experience 'n The Overboss' brain, is...Some people 're built a 'lil differently, nothin' wrong with that.
Normally, we're a pretty mean bunch, but the Nuka World Raiders who're Autistic're normally treated well, especially with our new Overboss in charge.
These Raiders work in the Safari Adventure park of Nuka World, they care for the animals we got, 'n they're happy. The animals, 'n the Raiders. They also help Mason with his animals, which's made the Bradburton Amphitheatre a lot nicer. Gives Mason's pack some time to clean all the animal shit up. Overboss makes sure to accommodate 'em 'n punishes any who fucks with 'em.
(My brother is actually on the spectrum, so this ask was really refreshing. I love my brother and wouldn't change him for the world. The more we talk about Autism and understand it, the less ignorance we project in the world :D )
