Sleep: I’ll write a drabble of my character snuggling in bed with yours.
The entire thing was ridiculous, really. A pursuit of dreams currently and what seemed like forever out of grasp. Was it too much to ask for a nice bed to sleep on?
…Apparently, it was. At least, in regards to Aperture Science. Chell considered herself currently cursed with the inability to find a proper bed. Either their was a… Corpse, in the bed or the bed itself was in such a disgusting state that Chell found the floor to be a better substitute for her crisis. But she wasn’t at that point, not yet.
There was one thing she hadn’t tried yet, but she wasn’t too sure on her willingness to go through with it… After all, she’d noticed quite a time before that GLaDOS had snuck a bed into Her chamber and tucked it away. In the shadows, one could barely see it, really. But from what Chell remembered, it was just fine and not in a terrible condition… Not like these were.
In the end, Chell gave up and started heading for the main chamber, portal device propped up on her right shoulder as the test subject navigated her way through Aperture. At this point, the only one who knew the area better than she did was the AI Herself. Yet another feat Chell could take some twisted pride in.
Peering into the chamber not too long later, the test subject was surprised to note the dead silence within. The core itself was slightly slumped, showing that her consious wasn’t in it and the android was nowhere to be found. However, the bed that had been on Chell’s mind the whole walk over was still there, a real blessing in that moment.
Walking over with a hurried gait, Chell looked forward to the doze she’d finally get… Only to hesitate at the sight of a body already tucked away. Hesitation hit the test subject hard, about to to walk away, when she realized who was in it, exactly.
Huh, one would think she wouldn’t need sleep… But maybe the android body functioned differently from Her core one. That was the only sense Chell could make of the situation.
Had this been any time before, Chell would have left while sense still dominated. However, things were different this time around… In the weirdest of ways. A small smile quirked on her lips as she walked over to the bed, almost silent if not for her Long Fall Boots. Yeah, things had gotten weirder lately indeed…
The handheld portal device was propped next to the bed, ready for grabbing, just in case. Chell had long since gotten used to sleeping in her boots, so those stayed on as well. With that taken care of, she slipped into the bed beside GLaDOS for that sleep so had so craved.
…She could pretend that wrapping her arms around the AI was just some spur of the moment thing, right? Or brain damage? Yeah, they could go with that…
