“Swear on the ears” becomes a thing after some news host goes on a five minute rant about Batman being some demonic weirdo who does more harm than good and doesn’t even have a decent costume. Bruce doesn’t care, he likes the ears and they’re useful and kids love them, but also some teenager with the most cultivated vibes very seriously told him “the ears are fucking cool man” and yes that carried him for like three whole nights.

Bruce is like, constantly confused at the pride Gothamites have in him but honestly its nicer then being shot at, so ok. The new generation of goons, the ones who grew up with Batman around, are so confusing for him personally because they arent scared of him but they’re also more likely to just throw down their weapons and shout their motive. Like. “MY MAS SICK AND I NEEDED A QUICK BUCK BATS DONT HIT THE FACE” and then he spends like a half hour sneaking them out the side door before the cops get there and doing career counseling. Hes not mad, or even disappointed, but do they know there’s a hotline? They dont need to do this they can just call the hotline its ok.
