Concerning PC Askblogs and bawwing from a certain Bishop
So, I'm actually going to put up a reply to Ask A Bishop's whiny post over here, because a lot of weird askblogs have been popping up. Not the Grendel the Really Old or the Miss Tan ones, but the really obviously attention whoring ones that have been popping up in the tag, like ask-cookiezms. I'm going to address that little defensive remark of Ask A Bishop's with several points:
Now, Ask A Bishop, you realize you can make askblogs about NPCs, too, right? And every other character with an existing storyline and background?
You're actually implying if someone isn't a HERO CLASS DURR, they must not be popular. Which is completely false. Look at the Resistance Instructors and cats askblogs. Look at the Cygnus Knights askblogs. They're not Heroes, but they're still damn popular! If you made, oh, I don't know, an askblog about Chief Stan, and get his background and personality right, you'd probably be as popular as well. Which brings me to my next point.
The other reason is that they have CONSISTENT background and personality. They've already been established as acting in certain ways in-game. Sure, the blog handlers run some gag answers and fanservice sometimes, but they are mostly consistent with how the characters ask.
So now you're just pointing fingers and blaming everyone else because bawww, your lack of effort is not popular! People don't do askblogs about Adventurers FOR A REASON. It's because they don't have set personalities. Adventurers could be ANYONE, and there are no bounds for OOC points. There is no foundation for them to be set upon other than what you've created, and no one expects that. No one knows what your character's base personality is, and if you're just going to list them off as traits, how exactly are you going to prove them? You can't, because none of the viewers have any set idea of what your askblog is about. How will you know your character is OOC? How will we know if you're going way out of bounds?
Simple. We don't, and therefore we can't expect anything. THAT'S why nobody likes Adventurer askblogs.
Furthermore, the person in question wasn't even referencing you in the first place. Your Bishop is simply a generic adventurer, which is simply 'hmmm, okay'. The SPECIFIC player-character askblogs, like ask-cookiezms, is something that irks everyone. It's no longer a character askblog, it's a PERSONAL askblog. It's a damn mechanic for attention because bawww, look at all dem HERO CLASSES GETTING ALL DEM ASKS I WANT THEM TO ASK ME QUESTIONS!
So chill your tits, and quit getting so defensive because you're a ~*~special snowflake adventurer with no set boundaries~*~.
