ask-glittershell replied to your post âDude I just found out I share a birthday with Spongebob and I am...â
is this a jojo refrence
NO!!!!
ask-glittershell ha respondido a tu publicaciĂłn: One would think that asking for permission before...
As an artist I honestly disagree with this notion entirely. My content saw massive spikes in followers and viewers after being reposted and shared to other websites; some of the audience of those sites come to find the rest of my content. If I had demanded confirmation for every single post I would have alienated a number of those people, and limited my contents spread.
Well Iâm glad you were one of the few artists who benefited from people reposting your art. Unfortunately, not all artists have the same luck, and a few good experiences doesnât make up for the huge problem reposting art is. There are still a lot of reposters that gain thousands of followers for doing nothing, while the artist gets no recognition. Most reposters donât care to put a source. Most reposters fight the artist when they are asked to delete the reposts. Most reposters are shitty.
About artists and the way they feel about reposting: Some donât care, but others do. I do care. The first time I saw all of my art reposted on derpibooru, it really hurted me and made me feel like I had no control over my own content; nobody ever cared to let me know it was being reposted, everybody just assumed I would know about derpibooru and be okay with the way that site works. Now my reposting conditions on Derpibooru are âWith permission onlyâ, and suddenly nobody ever cares about my art enough to ask for permission or just let me know when they are gonna repost something. Most reposters are lazy, and I donât trust them. Thatâs it.
All I ask for is permission, simple as that, if they canât do that, they canât repost my stuff. Itâs my content and I deserve to know where it ends up. I refuse to feed reposting culture.
And again: reposting is bad and hurts the artist almost always. Youâre literally the second artist I see that agrees with reposting. And Iâm sorry but I cant really take into consideration a couple of good experiences, when they are hundreds of bad ones, mine being one of them :/

Applejack: So Twi built a flamethrower wieldinâ robot pony because Sunset Shimmer said she couldnât.
Sunset: I did NOT tell her to add a flamethrower to it! I just didn't believe that she would actually build a fully autonomous robot pony. I didnât even know that was possible.
Applejack: So whyâd she add a flamethrower to it?
Sunset: She has a very powerful inner child.
âWhen Aunt Twilight anâ Aunt Sunset took me to Equestria for the first time they let me meet some of their bestest friends anâ I met Glittershell! I thought she was a Princess since all the prettiest ponies Iâve met so far have been Princesses but she said no! I still think she should be!â
Me too @ask-glittershell. Meee toooooo.
(Thanks for the great blog)
