Hmm I do like the idea of Ash Salt understanding Shadow Milk but I feel like if it’s not going to be PV than it’s probably going to be Sage of Truth or smth
And if you don’t mind me asking but Sage did say they need ‘Cookies’ to understand the Soul Jams , Shadow Milk and the Ultimate Cookie so who do you think the responsibility of understanding the soul jams and the ultimate cookie will go to
Gonna be honest, I did go back to look through the cutscenes to make sure I did understand what the convo was. I'm not the biggest fan of that section of episode 2. It's kind of the weakest section to me, but that is beside the point.
I do wanna think that Sage won't be appearing again, as him doing so would be . . . weird, if I'm honest. Cause he is just there to be a fandom shout out. His role in this story is just exposition dumping, and I don't think he will be utilized so well when I believe Ash Salt would be a better fit due to my own theories and bias. But thats another ask for another time.
As for the idea of who could give true understanding to the three things, i feel like there isn't one answer for all of them, since idk whether the Ultimate Cookie will be dealt with via this arc or the next. But if I were to look at the details of the convo-
Sage seems to imply cookies in a way that doesn't feel like it needs to be a select of three. The overall convo here is mainly saying what they need to do is uncover the mysteries of the Souljam, Ultimate Cookie, and the bearers of the souljam in order to defeat shadow milk and bring order to the timeline. Meaning the overall arc will be about learning new lore about all this. "True Understanding" is mainly just a term they are using to imply that the cookies right now don't have all the answers and are ignorant to the truth. I don't even know if Sage knows the truth about it all (gosh I hope he doesn't). So it's not that I think someone will be like "I understand you", but more like knowing how something works so the elements can be removed and make shadow milk less than a threat.
Though it's because of this convo between Sage and Timekeeper, I am very much believing this could be setting up Shadow Milk being redeemed due to how much they are playing up "he didn't mean it, he's just a wittle guy", but I would give props if Shadow Milk did die at the end feeling no remorse for what he did, even with the ultimate dough junk out of his system. Again, another rant for another ask. I have too many opinions about the update.
