As much as I disliked Tyrande's attitude towards Illidan, I do agree she NEVER used his feelings for her against him. Tyrande always remained Indifferent towards his "advances". The whole love triangle situation is not comfortable to begin with, especially with a guy who just won't let go after you made your choice.
Oh, I’ll be the first to acknowledge her attitude towards him was really shitty. Even though I don’t think she should react the way Illidan wanted her to, I do agree that the way she acts isn’t good either --- she was one of those responsible for him being imprisoned the way he was, after all (and there is no excuse for how terrible his prison was, like, he could have been imprisoned to pay for his crimes and still be treated as a person should, which he wasn’t).
As I said, there are plenty of things you can use to point out Tyrande was wrong in doing. She does a lot of shit tbh. But yeah, she never used his feelings for her, if anything she completely ignored them. Yes, she has a share of guilt in how he was imprisoned, her attitude towards him once she frees him is really shitty, and that she supports Malfurion exiling him after he literally sacrifices his soul to save them all is even worse, not to mention that after everything he does in Legion her reaction to his message isn’t any better.
But using of his feelings for her is something she’d never do, for several reasons. Tyrande doesn’t use of lying and manipulating people to get what she wants --- in fact she’s often honest to the point of bluntness, as seen with Thalyssra. I can’t see someone who loathes the idea of becoming like Azshara being anything other than disgusted at the idea of using someone’s love for her to manipulate him. And that’s without saying that in spite of their divergences and of everything bad there is between Tyrande and Illidan, one of the reasons she disliked so much to “have” (I mean she didn’t have to, but the writers said that she had so) to pick one of them was because she didn’t want to hurt the other. And yeah, that was when they were still friends but how would she go from “I don’t want to make this choice because I’ll hurt him and I wish he just didn’t have feelings for me” to “I’ll store him like a weapon and when it’s time to use him I’ll manipulate his feelings to make him fight for me” just... doesn’t make any sense to me.
