I LOVE FAKE RELATIONSHIP??? 

When it was the holidays I wanted modern AU where Shiro accidentally gets into a situation where he tells his mom he’s bringing someone home for the holidays so he ends up bringing Keith. 

They’re both just good friends but I mean like, I guess Keith maybe might have a tiny crush. That he’ll never admit to anyone or himself. He just highkey lowkey wants to kiss Shiro sometimes. Like when they study together Keith daydreams about holding Shiro’s hand and going on dates and falling asleep on the couch with him. No big deal, Keith can totally handle this fake relationship thing. He’s got this in the bag.

And so, you can imagine all the times Keith’s heart feels like it’s gonna beat right out of his chest when Shiro’s hand rests on his hip, or when Shiro comes up behind him and talks low into his ear.

And as the days go by, Shiro finds himself being close to him even when there’s no one around them to pretend for? Shiro sees Keith with his family, playing with this little cousins, and laughing and it makes Shiro feel so warm? Like it’s so natural for Keith to be there, by his side and with his family.

Christmas morning comes around and they’re all exchanging gifts. Keith’s surprised when Shiro’s parents hand him a gift too, and he feels a little embarrassed he doesn’t have anything in return. They laugh it off with “you make our son happy, that’s enough,” and Keith feels his face burn up, feels a little better when he turns to Shiro who’s hiding his face in his hands.

It’s a pair of hand-knitted scarves, red for him, black for Shiro. He holds them in his hands for a long moment, and then says quietly, “I love it, they’re perfect, thank you so much.” Shiro comes to sit next to him and stays there, warm and supportive by Keith’s side.

"I’ve never spent Christmas like this before,” Keith tells him later. “With a family.” Being surrounded with so much love, so much warmth, it’s all so novel for Keith, and at that Shiro's heart breaks and bursts with feeling at the same time. 

Under the clear night sky, just the two of them in the garden, with nothing to prove, Shiro kisses him. “I want you to spend every Christmas with my family. With me.”
