“ I was a mess of a man with washed up excuses —— I know. ”
Hands are risen to convey her unwillingness to cause a strife and features attempt to be yielding -- but can’t quite hide grudge she bears against the unfortunate situation as the King’s men surround her. “ Sire – I did not mean to arouse any attention. ” Voice is mellow, charcoal eyes seemingly patient, and yet she lowers her hands only slowly. Like many outside the castle walls of Camelot, she has looked forward to the end of King Uther’s vicious reign and like many others, she has questioned his son’s ability to abandon Uther’s legacy; that alone could be reason to distrust her
------ if it was known.
But she means neither him nor his kingdom any harm. Lungs exhale a fatigued breath, old trees watching patiently as she bows her head relentingly. “ The elderflower and primrose that grow here are particularly effective. The villages around Camelot don’t always have access to a physician and their men cannot constantly travel to the castle to ask for help. I do what I can. ”
“ I did not mean to interrupt your activities, I apologise. ”

"You like things with a bit of history, don’t you? You like your stories to read and tell.” He does. He knows. And he’s much a wine in that regard -- beyond a doubt; there’s few things in life so violently certain -- aged well and whose notes drink unfathomably, unspeakably deep. And there: he is deep. His pretty clothes catch the gleam of lamplight, shimmery in an ancient grace that doesn’t meet the cunning of his eyes, and the princely thing smiles. Raises his hand. Crooks a finger, innocent. “I can pale your books. Why don’t you read me?”
@arzhur, he’ll huff and puff and....!

Being back is a...strange feeling for the ex-knight. Especially with what horrible acts his body was made to perform through the puppeteer act Morgana had put him through. There was nothing he could do but repent. Try and earn back that which he had lost. Even if he hadn’t felt whole since Merlin had woken him up. He has moved through the kingdoms as a vigilante of sorts. Helping those in needs without requesting coin or company. Running into the King had not been expected but he wouldn’t fault Arthur for striking him down. After all, while he was not fully in control he did not stop himself committing treason. Had Merlin told him what he was now? Or did Arthur believe him whole? “Sire.” He bows out of respect but does not reach for his blade where it rests near his leg. The small camp he’s made open to anything. “You should not be out in woods like this alone. It is quite dangerous.”

The vulnerability of traveling the roads solo are known. Before the war, the emissary would be accompanied by guards; a pack of well-armed Variags plucked from the fertile soils of Nûrn and charged with protecting Mordor’s messenger. Now, the exile carries no messages, holds no company sans the stolen Gondorian mare made docile by a basic Morgul spell. Only a rusted scimitar at her hip sits not far from a knife of similar origins as the horse. Rather, protection is her own bid at preservation. She’s overcome enough obstacles from the deserts of Far Harad to the council halls of the Lôke-Khan to thus far escape persecution for war crimes. It is on her last legs ( five years since Barad-dûr fell ) that she goes West. There, her face is unknown and headhunters less likely to follow.
The Northern Road through Rhovanion is no stranger to merchants en route from Mistrand, though perhaps travelers did not venture as close to the borders of the kingdom of Camelot without due appointment. Still, she gambles in the daylight, hoping others to bypass an “Easterling woman” with only a few suspicious looks. The oncoming company of knights were not foreseen, however.
As a sentinel, she sits upon her horse halted at the side of the road — a bid for them to pass and mind her no business. Grey eyes, lined in kohl ( as black as her garb ) boldly survey the men from a realm she is less acquainted. The interest seems mutual, unfortunately. Teeth grit as they approach, but chill grasp moves not from her pommel. ❝ Morning. ❞ Accented Westron falls the wry greeting; playing not fluent is considered, however. // ( plotted starter for @arzhur )

'Hold still', she says quietly, her fingers tightening around his elbow to stop him from moving, 'this is complicated magic'. She understands why he might instinctively want to pull away at the sight of her eyes shifting to gold - he might not be his father, but he grew up with those beliefs and ideas, and she imagines it's hard to believe she's not going to hurt him.
She hadn't intended to show herself at all, content with helping him from the shadows, with helping his people to simply show him magic could be used for good. But he'd been injured, and if she doesn't stop the bleeding, she might never get to see if he's a better King than his father. The wound on his thigh is a deep, jagged thing, and she kneels beside him, threads of gold curling out from her fingers to settle against his skin. She keeps her head bowed, murmuring words in a forgotten tongue under her breath, her eyes glowing bright as she slowly knits his flesh back together. She pauses, taking a deep breath as she feels her strength drop, and glances up at him. 'Nearly done', she says, turning her attention back to his leg. He'd lucky, really. Maybe the fates are in his favour.
A knight. He never thought that this day would come. He had felt guilty for lying about in the past about his legitimacy of being a knight. He didn’t come from a noble home; he was just a normal man who came from a small village. His entire family had been killed off by bandits. He swore that he would do everything in his power to learn how to use a sword and protect those who couldn’t protect themselves. Now that he was here, back in Camelot, it felt right to be here again.
He was quiet as he approached Arthur, his king. He knew that there was going to be some new changes from his old life to his new life. Now that it was a new morning, newly knighted, he needed to know about his new duties. “My king? What is your first task that you wish for you to do?” He wasn’t exactly sure what Arthur would need of him, but he was ready and willing to do it all.
