Prologue: The Stardust Flower

The first chapter of my fic for @aroyallybigbangrwrb is finally out!!!

Chapter 1: Arrival

“Yes, Alex, what a terrible destiny,” Nora says. “To be hosted for a week by all these charming rich people, who have bent over backwards to accommodate us, including sending their own carriage into town to fetch us. How very dare we drag you into their nefarious scheme.”

Invited to a week-long house party at the Duke of Windsor’s country residence, Alex Claremont-Diaz does not expect to find anything to enjoy about his time there. What he does find is Lord Henry, the duke’s younger brother—and a boatload of things to learn about himself.

Seven days in the country in a duke's house. What could possibly happen?

I'm going with another snippet from the @aroyallybigbangrwrb Neighbours AU because it is almost finished so I won't be able to use it for WIP Wednesday much longer!

While Henry was still admiring Alex and his abilities in the kitchen, he quickly swiveled around and placed a full margarita glass, complete with salted rim, directly into Henry’s hand, no questions asked. 

“This will fix all of your woes, trust me,” Alex said, flashing him a brilliant smile. 

“Who said I had woes, exactly? Do I seem like I have woes that need fixing?” Henry retorts, knowing damn well that he does, but trying not to come across completely desperate. “It was really just this bloody broken blender.”

Alex starts flailing his arms, eyes sparkling. “Henry, I’ve already had to come to your rescue on more than one occasion and you haven’t even lived here for a month yet. I’d say you’ve got woes alright!” Henry can't help but notice how beautiful he is when he gets riled up.

it's my time to post for @aroyallybigbangrwrb and i'm so excited for you to all read this fic that i've been working on for the past couple of months. it has it all: fluff, smut, slow burn love, funny moments and pride and prejudice quotes. i had SO much fun writing this!
