Plant of the Day
Saturday 25 April 2026
The glossy leaves of Arum italicum subsp. italicum 'Marmoratum' (Italian arum) appear in the autumn and will tolerate shaded conditions. The flower is a large greenish-yellow spathe with a yellow spadix followed by showy spikes of orange-red berries. This perennial can be invasive through both its bulbous growth and berries.

Can we have a strange schlong yaoi???
I'm going to file a complaint with HR...
Yao's Corpse Plant (Amorphophallus yaoi), family Araceae, endemic to Panay and the Romblon Islands of the Philippines
Like most corpse plants, in the genus Amorphophallus, this plant is pollinated by flies and beetles, attracted to the carrion-like smell of the flower.
Described by science in 2020.
Named after botanist George C. Yao, Yaoi is the latinization of the name Yao. It is not a reference to yaoi.
