that’s a good question, most of my names are quite odd.

if i were anyone else, i’d say my names i sometimes fluctuate between, for example 8bit, koi, abstract. but those aren’t really weird to me.

maybe the strangest name i’ve picked up is my main english name: aech.

picked it up before i realized i was trans, too. it was just a way for my english-speaking friends to refer to me. it just… stuck lmao. i like it, tho. it’s unique.

but most of the time when i intruduce myself it goes “hi, i’m aech” “…like the letter?”

Your current english name kind of reminds me of that one trans woman who's name is literally just the letter "E", and even has a guitar (or bass? i forgor) in that shape. (a post about it got pretty popular, forgot who the op was but that's how I know about her).

but because that’s my name, people just assume i go by he/him, and when i correct them they just go “BuT mALe NaMe!!”

like, sorry??? what am i supposed to do???? just not have a name??????? (a lot of enbies in iceland have english names, but i really like my name so…)

even though names aren’t bound to gender by *law* anymore, they’re still associated with a gender.

i feel like people, ESPECIALLY queer people need to stop using feminine and female, masculine and male interchangably when describing gender.

it’s like they know the difference when it comes to gender expression, but don’t seem to recognize the difference when it comes to gender alignment and i don’t get it at all.

as an example, i’m a feminine-aligned, boy-aligned person. i don’t really consider my gender at all “male” or “masculine”, but i do consider it “boyish” or “man-like” in some cases, but people use MIN (masculine-in-nature) to describe any male genders and it’s like UGH! i’m not masculine in my gender at all! (but i am sometimes due to having a very fluid identity) (also, i’m not saying that masculine-in-nature genders don’t exist, because they do, but my issue comes from people just using those terms interchangably)

if this doesn’t make sense to you (which like, i get it if it doesn’t) consider butches. a lot of butches might consider their gender “masculine-aligned”, but not male, because being butch / traditionally masculine is an integral part of their identity (i’m not saying ALL butches, but some butches)

MASCULINE is not the same as MALE. “oh, but we’re referring to gender identity, not gender expression!” shush. i’m a feminine-aligned boy, just because i’m a boy it makes me “masculine-aligned”? no! i’m boy-aligned, please understand this.

if i see ONE MORE coining post using female/feminine and male/masculine interchangably, i might explode.

i hope this makes sense, i’m off to make flags for feminine-aligned boys, males and men and flags for masculine-aligned girls, females and women (do you want me to show them to you?)
