Final Part 2

My final project based on the isolation of an artist in quarantine. Each photo has an element of a house hold item that connects to the natural world, earth, fire, water, and air. I used a lot of adjustment layers filters in photoshop to achieve the affects seen here.

What inspired me about her work is her use of perspective and negative space which actually is something ill be looking to use in my final project. I think also her ideas of wandering and being an experience photographer is something I can relate to. She didn’t talk a lot about her own inspirations in the interviews I watched, other than her saying her working always inspires new work and re-examining old work as well. I really enjoyed looking into this artist and photographer hopefully I will stay inspired as she has throughout the years.

For the glitch assignment I chose a colorful spot to go shoot with a friend of mine. There is lots of colorful graffiti in this area and a great spot for photos. I chose the RGB affect in photo shop to adjust the photo with blending modes. I cut and paste with the marquee tool and added an overlay glitch patter to add some interest. Here's the results! I'll post the original photo and other glitch renderings in next post.

Blog post 1: this is a photograph I took that I like because of its use of shadow and highlight, geometric shape, black and white editing, and repetition. i also enjoy how the post production use of grain gives the photo a distinct sort of vintage feel.

My moving images definitely show a lot more context and style about me as an artist versus the photos. Those are more up for interpretation from the viewer. I personally enjoy both, but sometimes the use of video can be more powerful for putting more of my personal touch on a theme like this. There’s a lot more involved in making a video too, so always more of a chance to change and alter the work. The meaning of my video can show process completion or success. My photos, I hadn’t made the brownies yet sooo individually... I feel it puts off a totally different meaning. Like parts to an equation and the video is the solution.

For my mid term final I wanted to pick topics that were close to my heart which is women’s rights and fashion. I used only what was available to me in my closet and created these four different looks in one sitting. I went outside and shot this all in front of my garage with my sisters help. Each look speaks to how women are painted and depicted by beauty standards and different clothing items or body modifications. In the end were always judged or made out to be different characters but were actually all the same on the inside. My looks hopefully will inspire of give the feeling of uncertainty, chaos, and constraint. Hope you all enjoy!
