you know i remember seeing some complaints about the s15 finale to the effect of “if this actually happened, why did church never mention it?!” and i mean c’mon the answer’s pretty obvious: when church says “i’m just gonna forget this ever happened and never mention it” he accidentally?semi-purposely deleted the incident from his memory banks.
am i the only one who only ever calls epsilon "epsilon" and never church? like, no, church is the alpha. epsilon is his sweeter, smarter, younger twin brother who actually cares about other people.

Inspired by this post as well as a general desire to write an SAO AU. This is just a ficlet about the end of a side-quest, so there’s not really a whole lot going on. I hope to eventually figure out an actual story, but for right now, this is all I got.
Wordcount: 1426
For the ship thing: chex
Chex is… complicated. Director/Allison (or Allison-adjacent) is out, just straight-up.
Alpha/Beta is… kinda okay? but I’m not really very attached to them, and I honestly think Tex deserved better than Alpha, because lbr Alpha is a complete jerk without many redeeming qualities.
Epsilon, whom I love with all my heart and soul, truly, had a really weird thing going on with Epsi-Tex and while I am glad that she got to rest, I’m with Marti when it comes to how he deleted(???) her without her input.
Chex: 4/10, would not particularly recommend.

I wonder what Epsilon would think if he knew that Wash let Alpha implant in him
♥ for Chex, please?
There are a number of clues. The unevenness of her breathing. The way her shoulders shake. How she closed herself into the bedroom with the lights out, hasn’t spoken to him, won’t turn to look at him even though he’s come into the room. It all adds up to something he can’t even fathom. For a while Church stands there, biting his lip, trying to figure out what he’s supposed to do. When no answers come he does the only thing he can think of. The room is dark when he closes the door behind him. The floor cold as bare feet cross it. The bed sags to the side when he sits on it because she’s perched on the edge of the bed. None of it matters so much as comfortably sitting behind her, their backs pressed together. Not firmly. There has to be room for her to move away or lean back. And finally, Church puts his hand off to the side. He doesn’t say anything, doesn’t dare, but he puts his hand to the side and when she leans back against him and lays a hand over his he knows that it will be okay.

The first time that it happens, David waves it off because it’s laundry day and Leonard is pretty shitty at having enough shirts to last until he’s willing to clean anything. David, on the other hand, always has clean clothes, and it’s fall, so should he be shocked that Leonard found his favorite sweatshirt from playing college ball. And it looks good on him. Still, David protests on principle, because it’s still his favorite sweatshirt. The second time is when they’re rushing out for dinner. Leonard always complains about how it’s cold in a restaurant, and David throws the sweatshirt at his boyfriend because anything else would take time. At the Indian place it looks good on him, particularly in the golden glow of the dim lights. He can’t remember the times after that. Just smiles when it comes and when Leonard starts to shiver David takes the thing off his own shoulders and passes it to his boyfriend. “Still warm,” Leonard hums in approval. “Like a hug.”How could he not smile at that?
