Butterfly Pea Flower Colorway
Perendale lambs wool, first shearing
I tend to take my inspiration for dyeing from nature. In this case, I decided to try to recreate the colors and shifting hues of the butterfly pea flower. As I do not grow butterfly pea flowers, I had to use the internet for my reference photos. There are tons of photos for the tea, but not many of the actual flowers. Thankfully, Sweet Pea Gardens had quite a few beautiful photos that showcased the lovely aspects of the pH shifting colors of the flowers.
The wool is 453 g / 16 oz of raw perendale lamb fleeces, first shearing, coming in at a 3-4 cm / 1-1.5 in staple length with lovely little curls at the tip of the locks.
