"Unstaged" Series
This series of paintings, started in 2024, reflect on the nature of memory and perception as well as looking at the unposed, unstaged, common scenes in Grenada. Loose gestural strokes give impressions of scenes without highly detailed or rendered forms – much like how our brains remember things. “Drinks Truck” 48″36″, Ink and Acrylic on Canvas, 2024 “Saraka Pots” 30″x40″, Ink and Acrylic on…

Errantry
Errantry is a visual summation of Édouard Glissant’s concept of the driving force that compels cultures and individuals to seek out the Other in order to complete themselves. Representations of the sea, stars, and nomadism sum up Glissant’s thought, “Sometimes, by taking up the problems of the Other, it is possible to find oneself.”

This is some of the art that did during Grenada’s Covid-19 lockdown from March to July, 2020. I took the time to try to reflect some of the common visuals of the time in a variety of techniques and mediums.

Poetic Architecture (2020)
This body of work is a starting point to launch further lines of inquiry regarding interpreting, producing, and consuming art in a dialogic mode as an initial premise. Poetic Architecture is about a philosophy of relation.
More will be posted after the opening on Friday, February 21st!

This series, enamel on paper and enamel on ripstop is just a little exploration into an element that is included in many Northern Renaissance paintings called “Vanitas” that is intended to remind us of our mortality. This “Memento Mori” type of series plays with that reminder of mortality and at time feels like it is a game. In some ways, the more we focus on and analyse a subject like this, the more absurd it becomes.
