This alliance was forged in the aftermath of their loyalty to King Alfons II during the war against his elder brother, King Philip I. Yet, despite the political triumph, the marriage was anything but happy. Lady Emmeline’s sorrow was evident, for in every portrait painted after her wedding, not once was she seen smiling.

I'd love to know if you had any specific thoughts for Sayla and Char going through years of yearning for their childhood friend !! Its fun thinking of all ways they would try to calm their obsession's while missing their darling for so long

I'm so flattered I was able to inspire you! It means so much to me that you were thinking about my writing! It’s seriously the greatest compliment ever to know I inspired you to create something.

Also, I have a yandere sayla profile in the works right now (it’s kind of slow coming, but it’s getting there) so I definitely have more thoughts about her cooking rn. But if you have anything you’d like to see, feel free to send a request! 

-As soon as they are given their respective new names, both of the former Deikun siblings wonder what you would think of the new names if you were here. Would you think like them? Would you think their old names were better? If you were here, would you continue to use their old names, much like caval continues to call his sister artesia, or would you call them by their new names, like how artesia has taken to fully accepting the name sayla. 

-casval would prefer you continue to call him casval; he has a hard time ever considering his new identity to be his true self. It’s not that he was necessarily attached to his old name, other than being the son of zeon deikun, but it still makes him bitter to have his name taken from him. Not to mention your voice always sounded so cute to him when you’d say his name, often with a smile. Things like that are gone from him now. 

-they talk about you often together. No one but them could understand it- being torn away from their entire lives, losing everything, even you. It’s a comfort to them both to recall old memories, and dream about a day where they may see you again. It’s common for them to sit in the yard on quiet days and talk about you- the times you’d spent with them, the memories you three shared, where you might be now, what they’d do if- when- they saw you again. Sometimes they discuss their own feelings, of course it's artesia to broach the subject; a shy little comment about how beautiful she always thought you were. From there, it becomes easier for them to both admit that they’d assuredly had a crush on you. 

-Though, they both make a point to avoid talking about the more intense side of their feelings. Both siblings are aware that the extent of their feelings for you is strange, wrong even, maybe even dangerous. Neither of them is willing to risk bringing up this side of themselves.

-casval is somewhat embarrassed to think about you so often, feeling a little bit pathetic to now be able to let go of you. Everything else in his life was easier to leave behind- not that he wanted to, but he was able to force himself to. But you? You’re on his mind everyday. It’s embarrassing, it’s pathetic, he tries everything to make himself think of something else. Anything but you.

 -artesia is much more accepting of her feelings, wanting to recall you often so that you’d never be far, always in her heart. She’s not embarrassed at all to admit how much you mean to her, how often she thinks about you and how badly she misses you. But it eats at her heart- constantly missing you, constantly hoping you’re alright, constantly wondering if you’ve replaced her and moved on. Do you have a new best friend now? Would she be a bad person if she hoped you didn’t?

-artesia, now sayla, sees you in everything around her. You would have loved the flowers that grow on earth, you would have loved the warm breeze in summer, you would have loved the people here. Whenever she sees the beauty of the world around her, she imagines you with her. All the beauty of earth is a reminder of you, her first love, her darling. Every time she sees something beautiful, or a happy couple together, or the future looks bright; it’s a reminder to her that you’re out there somewhere, and she’ll get back to you someday.

-casval sees the absence of you in everything around him. He is in a room full of people but none of them are you. He’s in a beautiful mansion but you’re not there. Earth is beautiful and vast but you’re a million miles away. The absence of you makes anything else feel trivial; like nothing is worthwhile unless you’re beside him smiling. He hates it- it makes him bitter, and no matter how hard he tries to hide it, he feels empty. Everything around him is a reminder that he has to get back to you, nothing else matters.

-without your presence in her life, sayla tries to make her obsession more manageable- she’d never try to replace you, never try to move on, but she tries to feel normal about you. She wants so badly to shut out the part of herself that is selfish, the part of herself that wants you all to herself, the part of herself that can’t stand being away from you even for a minute. She hopes that the one good thing to come out of this will be that when she does see you again, she’ll be normal enough to fall in love with you normally. But a part of her knows that after all this time, when she does get you back, she’ll never be able to let you go.

-casval feels his obsession start to spiral as the years go on. From a childish clinginess, a childish desire to protect you, to a more sinister desire to own you completely, to keep everyone away from you forever so you can belong to only him. He knows it’s getting out of hand, but he can’t seem to stop. He knows his obsession has gone too far when he finds himself daydreaming of stealing you away from all that you know and all that you love- it’d be ok, you’d have him. And when he leaves the texas colony, now as char aznable, having committed a cold blooded murder; he knows he’ll do anything to make you his- he can’t go back now.
