1. What was the last book you read?
At the moment I'm reading Dante Valentine - Working for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow. I'm not far into the story yet but I like it so far. The protagonis Dante Valentine, a necromancer, had to visit Lucifer in hell because he had a job for her and now she has to look for a stolen egg (Lucifer's baby maybe? some mythical creature? don't know yet) together with a demon (who looks human...). I don't know if that will turn into some kind of more-than-work-relationship but right now they don't seem to like each other (but I think that is because the demon is... well a demon). Dante is brave (or mad) enough to point a sword at the king of hell so I think she will have to face some monstrosity or other that will test exactly how brave (or mad) she is.
The last book I finished was What we do when the elevator isn't coming (the world in mostly funny diagrams) by Katja Berlin and Peter Grünlich. It's funny and surprisingly accurate and some of these charts are postcard material.
2. Your first tv crush?
I can't remember. I'm really sorry.
3. Favourite free time activity?
Normally reading and watching TV shows on the internet (stupid translations that take to long!) Also discussing books and TV shows and characters with my friends.
My favourite free time at the moment though is learning sign-language just for the shits and giggles.
4. What is your favourite candy?
Chocolate. Nougat-chocolate. I'll fight you if you have some and I guard my hidden stashes like a dragon his eggs.
5. If you had one wish without any limits, what would you ask for?
I'd ask for worldwide happiness (not including the happiness of serial murderes, spreekillers and any other person who can only gain happiness by taking it from someone else). I'd ask specifically for everyone having the things that make them happy not just the feeling of happiness regardless of the situation someone is in... so no hunger and no wars.
6. What do you hate (thing, activity, show etc.) without any reason, you simply hate it?
My sister using the sentence "nämlich doch" to argue with me. I don't know why I hate it but I just do...
7. What internet trend do you dislike the most?
I don't really know what you mean by internet trend so I'm just gonna say the whole yolo thing (I hope that's what you meant).
8. What book would you like to see turned into a movie? (+ any suggestions on how to do it)
The Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs!!
Mercedes Thompson is a WV mechanic whose neighbor is the alpha of a werewolf pack. She also repairs the VW Bus of a vampire that looks like the Mistery Machine from Scooby Doo and her boss is one of the few fae that can work with iron. She herself is a skinwalker which in her case means she turns into a coyote. As far as supernatural creatures go she isn't very powerfull but because she is smart and knows what she's doing (most of the time) she solves problems that most people (even of the supernatural kind) would run from.
It's a good series and I would love to see it turned into a movie but it would be very hard to do because there are multiple times where people just randomly turn into animal twice their normal size or giant wolfs turn into people. The books are written from Mercy's point of view so there is a lot of interior monolog which is hard to bring into a movie without a voice-over and that just doesn't fit.
*sighs* it would have been nice though.
9. Ok secret time: what is your biggest guilty pleasure?
That'a a tough one...
Maybe writing fanfiction...? I don't know... I love it but I don't tell anybody (except of course the people who write ffs too) yeah... I guess fanfiction.
10. Song to describe your life?
"4'33" by John Cage. Nothing really happens in my life. Nothing inspiring and nothing special. Just me and my computer...
11. If you could live one character’s life - whose would it be and why?
I would like to live the life of Jesse Hauptman. She is the daughter of the alpha living next to Mercy Thomson.
There are a lot of good points.
1. Her dad is a werewolf
2. She's tough
3. She's good friends with Mercy
4. She has a nice, brave and good looking boyfriend
She also has her share of problems like the fact that her parents are divorced, that her dad's house is full of non-human beings that are a bit short-tempered and that some kids don't like her because of her dad BUT she has her dad, Mercy and her boyfriend to help her and cheer her up. I'd like a life like that.
