Fiera Di Parigi Pierre Commarmond 1926
Fiera di Parigi — Pierre Commarmond, 1926 This elegant 1926 poster by Pierre Commarmond was commissioned to promote the Paris International Fair (Foire de Paris), one of the world's great trade and consumer exhibitions, held annually at the Champ de Mars. The interwar years were a golden age for French exhibition poster art, and Commarmond was among its finest practitioners. Pierre Commarmond (1897–1982) was a prolific French poster artist who worked extensively for the French national railways (PLM and later SNCF), tourism bodies, and major exhibitions throughout the 1920s and 1930s. His style is characterised by clean Art Deco geometry, restrained colour palettes, and a confident sense of composition that made his work instantly legible at distance. The Foire de Paris, founded in 1904, attracted millions of visitors annually and served as a showcase for French industry, agriculture and craftsmanship. Commarmond produced several posters for the fair across different years, each a refined snapshot of the Art Deco aesthetic at its height. Digitally restored by an artist — surface wear removed, colours refreshed, vintage character retained. Copyright: Personal use only — no resale or redistribution. Download includes 5 high-resolution JPEG files: 4×5 (up to 40×50cm) · 3×4 (up to 18×24″) · 2×3 (up to 24×36″) · International (A5–A1, 50×70cm) · 11×14″ Your personal download link expires after 14 days and is limited to 3 uses — so your files stay safe and exclusively yours. Thank you to everyone who reached out and said they saw the poster last night! Here it is in all its glory! A Day at the Old Pavilion - There’s a historic photo I found of Lake Harriet that inspired me to look into the past of the bandshell. I found a message someone had written about their memories as a child in the summer of 1920: “The many picnics we had as a family by the lake and the band concerts that climaxed the day. The salt-water taffy, popcorn and balloons, the walk home along the lake shore through the park where it seemed there were always fire flies lighting our way.” – Margaret J.
