constellation transfiguration: an advanced branch of transfigurative magic that uses the position of stars to link together shapes and bring them into physical existence

the ghostly history: the history of magic as told by what’s written between the lines, what’s hiding behind the depths of someone’s eyes, what’s recorded in memories but not parchment … all the ghostly parts of french wizarding history

les potions exquises: a modern alchemy course developed in the 1920s that brews potions such as the ‘essence of time’ out of coffee grounds and ‘the lion’s roar’ out of old champagne

worst classes:

sword casting: channeling magic through a fencing sword instead of a standard wand

charms of treachery: a charms course that combines with transfiguration in order to spin illusions into existence

elective courses:

cloud whispering: combining weather charms with a form of legilimency, this class teaches students to influence the shapes of clouds, to dispel them from the sky or gather them together, and to call for rain, snow, or hail

woody herbology: herbology especially focused on wood. essential class for those interested in working with magical woods, whether to make wands, brooms, or amulets

extracurricular activities:

beauxbatons ballet company: beauxbatons has its own company that puts on performances for wizarding audiences all over the world. maintains a rivalry with the koldovstoretz ballet company, as well as the one from the italian academy of magic

beauxbatons field trip committee: help plan field trips to nearby countries, organisations, and other wizarding schools around the world

additional duties:

library assistant: assist in all library functions and maintaining the environment of all the library within beauxbatons, as well as help with acquiring new books

head girl: this one is self-explanatory

favourite haunts:

the library of silver: one of the largest libraries in the beauxbatons chateau, it is known as the library of silver because its walls are covered in silvered mirrors, looking out to the floor-to-ceiling windows on the opposite walls. it makes the library seem like it’s floating in the sky, and is a popular location for doing astronomy homework

the beauxbatons dorms: there are seemingly unlimited rooms within the beauxbatons chateau that students can stay in. each one is different, but they are all equally as comfortable, with soft, downy quilts, goosefeather pillows, and the finest baroque furniture. it’s always fun hanging out in or sleeping over at a friend’s room

beauxbatons is much like a conch shell, all soft colours, curving walls, and infinity within its soul; but it is also hard on the outside, protective, and gorgeous because of it. as you walk through its walls, you feel the motherly touch of magic run its fingers through your hair; hold your hand. alma mater, you think to yourself, and smile. beauxbatons is more than a pretty school – it is a home, a family. it is the protective love that sustains magic.

the more you get to know about beauxbatons, the more it reveals itself to be. like a rose spreading its petals and yawning open, beauxbatons is what kindles the magic within you, and help it bloom into a beautiful flower; but also protects you with sturdy thorns. it is a garden for the soul; and there’s no other ground you would rather sink your roots into, no other place you would rather call home.
