Hi there! I really admire your work/site and have a question for you that I couldn't find in the FAQ. When you first started your blog, how did you manage to gain followers/affiliates when nobody knew who you were? I imagine that it must have been tricky. Thank you for your time :)
Hey there!Â
I actually haven’t been asked this before so that’s why you haven’t found it in my F.A.Q but I do have a little ‘about’ bio here :^)Â
Basically: I started this blog a couple of years ago to share products I found on the internet or in local markets. Over the months and years my blog grew larger and people started requesting certain items, themes, etc. Along with the growth of my blog came affiliates, I don’t approach these people myself but you still can even if you don’t have a huge following. A lot only require a certain amount of followers, or for you to post X amount of times a week. I never even dreamed of growing this large or having affiliates - it’s just something that happened that I’m now very appreciative of.Â
I’m really glad I can help bring attention to indi artists and stores, to help support them in creating what they love and sharing it with the world. That’s truly what this blog is about, it was from the start and it still is because I have a HUGE passion for it. If I didn’t this blog would be nothing. You need to have a passion for something if you want to stick with it.Â
So I think, if you love what you post about other people will too. You can tell the difference between a blog who is just posting for money, and somebody who is trying to share what they love.Â
I hope this made sense!! Use tags, be creative, connect with your followers, and have fun. Sorry if it didn’t really answer your question, but thank you for your ask!Good luck :^)
