And what better occasion to post it than for the birthday of our special boy? 🤭

🔥Name: Arsonus Ardis

🔥Gryffindor, Year Two

🔥Birthday: March 31st (Aries)

🔥 Nationality: Sutherford, Scotland

🔥Blood Status: Muggleborn

🔥Height: Arsonus is quite tall, especially for a second year. He was nearly two heads taller than the rest of the first years, standing out during the Sorting, where the hat nearly fell off his head shouting “GRYFFINDOR!” so loudly.

🔥Body Type: skinny, lean, toned

🔥Hair: His curls are tight ringlets, in a darker pink than his cousin.

🔥Eyes: warm green

🔥Wand: Sycamore, Phoenix feather, thirteen and a quarter inch, very pliable

The sycamore made a questing wand, eager for new experience and losing brilliance if engaged in mundane activities. It was a quirk of these handsome wands that they might combust if allowed to become 'bored', and many witches and wizards, settling down into middle age, were disconcerted to find their trusty wand bursting into flame in their hand as they asked it, one more time, to fetch their slippers. As may be deduced, the sycamore's ideal owner was curious, vital and adventurous, and when paired with such an owner, it demonstrated a capacity to learn and adapt that earned it a rightful place among the world's most highly-prized wand woods.

Phoenix feather wands were capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may have taken longer to reveal this. They showed the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards disliked. They were the most picky about potential owners, their allegiance was usually hard won and they were the most difficult to tame and personalise.

Arsonus wants to be just like his idol, his cousin Tobias Ardis, who he sees as a faring, roguish type, despite Tobias’ relaxed demeanor. Like his cousin, Arsonus was born with pink hair, although his is a darker more brunette tone rather than soft pink. They are both able to manifest a unique form of magic, similar in theory to ancient magic, known as wild magic. Wild magic for Arsonus comes as spontaneous explosions and fires erupting upon his opponents.

Arsonus auditions for Quidditch at the start of his second year but is told he wasn't ready to “play with others”. He tends to bend or ignore the rules in attempts to boast his public perception from his peers. He is known as a dare devil, even swearing to get a tattoo in Hogsmeade in his third year as a dare. Professor Weasley scolds him for always trying to make himself the center of attention by risking his own safety. He is a regular in the Hospital Wing, rued by Nurse Blainey, as well as banned from the library until further notice.

He is great friends with Garreth Weasley despite their age gap. Other than alongside the other second years, he can be found with Maxi and Carina Savage, or Elian and Gilbert Blythe, befriending his cousin’s older friends.

His wand struggled to produce any real magic, effecting his grades gravely, unless his life is in danger. Then his wand will cast a spell necessary to save his life. He is usually quite argumentative with his wand, slapping it to his thigh or a table, only for it to belch out sparks or spit out molten magic.

I had to steal Lox Pratt as my face claim for this guy. He deserves a role as a good guy for once.

“If they won’t let me on the Quidditch team,” Arsonus shouts from the top of the Charms Wing, down to the small gathering of doe-eyed Gryffindor younglings standing on the lawns. “—then I will make sure no one can! I am prepared to jump from here! *ohshitherecomesprofessorkigowa* NO! MAKE ME—you said I don’t play well with others! After this, there won’t be a broom left for anyone to play with!”

Madam Kigowa stares unimpressed at him, hands on hips. “Don’t make me dirty my gloves wiping your guts off the that pile of school brooms! It would cost less than one month’s wages for me to replace them all.”

Arsonus gapes down at her. “T-that… YOURE GOING TO REGRET THIS! Tobi, this is for you, cousin! Keep our family strong when I’m gone!”

“Oh, spare me kid! Get down from—oh, stuff me? So this kid wishes to die, BE MY GUEST!”

Arsonus did jump, after ten minutes more of bickering with Madam Kigowa. He broke two bones in his arms and snapped one school broom. He is permanently banned from playing Quidditch until his fifth year, and from the roofs of the castle.

Arsonus Ardis, Gryffindor’s resident fire starter.

I want to start trying to draw more sketches every day, and just get more confident drawing, so I’ll start with my most recent and very cute pink son. Time lapse after page break.

Elian Saerling doesn’t have very strong magic. He really struggled in his early classes, until he started Art Lessons as his elective. Once he found out what he wanted to do with his magic, painting moving portraits, he felt the drive to study all the necessary classes to succeed. His intelligence isn’t academic; rather, it's the ability to learn magic intuitively. He has high magical stamina, able to maintain constant spell work over the week needed to finish.

Maxi Collymore boasts both physical and magical athleticism. Not just a jock, he’s also a competent duelist, and finds spellcasting easy when it piques his interests. Fun is the number one driver for Maxi’s studies. His magic matches his physical strength, speed, and agility. Of course, Maxi’s number one tool is his natural charisma, something that seems to allow him an ease to his spellcasting.

Arsonus Ardis’ magic is the strongest of his class. He is often brought to Professor Weasley’s office for personalized training. His power comes from his connection to chaotic wild magic, a strange variety of ancient magic. His magic shows itself in strength and agility—always acting before Arsonus can react. Despite this, he and his wand strongly disagree, and he can rarely cast spells, leading him to fall behind in nearly every class. Arsonus’ real influence lies in his charisma, able to sway his classmates towards troublemaking and mayhem.

Beaumont Lestrange has a powerful connection to dark magic. His magic is deadly, strong, and indomitable. Before he can graduate, he flees Hogwarts, becoming a dark wizard so powerful that he brings the return of the House of Lestrange. Although not fast or agile, Beaumont is absolute. Any spell he wishes to cast will find its mark. He specializes in torture curses, spells so strong they can cause an agonizing death described as the Cruciatus Curse tenfold.

Meet the new second years that @amus2110, myself, and @lyra-prag made to torment our fifth years.

Eugene “Frog Boy” Cattermole

Dear Eugene is a Gryffindor second-year with paint perpetually smeared across his cheeks and robes. He’s a silly lad better known around Hogwarts as “Frog Boy.” Whether he’s searching the shore of the Black Lake for tadpoles or trying to convince members of the Frog Choir that the toad he found has excellent singing potential. He sees magic as an excellent medium and has taken to using it to aid in his painting endeavors. Potion classes are less about brewing assignments and more about discovering vibrant new pigments, much to Professor Sharp’s displeasure. He eagerly gathers whatever magical plants he can from Herbology to experiment with the natural magical colors, leaving rainbow handprints in the aftermath of his experiments. His vitiligo creates striking patches across his skin, something he has always embraced as just another canvas. The white patches it leaves in his hair are frequently colored with whichever pigment he has cooked up.
