Sebastian Sallow personality?
Okay, so I'm going to really dig deep into Sebastian Sallow and figure out what his personality is actually like. As usual, I'm using cognitive functions to understand him better and determine what his MBTI might be based on that.
For now, I read him as Se dom and Ti aux, which would make him most likely an ESTP (Se-Ti-Fe-Ni). But I'm still not sure, because he also feels like a Ne-dom, so I'm considering ENTP (Ne-Ti-Fe-Si) as well, especially because of how he keeps exploring different possibilities for Anne's cure🤔
The Scriptorium is one example. He notices the "Crucio" inscription on the floor and the tortured face carving on the door, connects the clues, and immediately concludes that the Cruciatus Curse is the only way to open it. Meanwhile, my MC, Arra is basically going, "Okay, but what if there's another way?" because apparently accepting that there is only one option is frustrating her. What a denial. (honestly I also do the same lol)
The Catacomb is another example where he can look like both a Ne dom and a Se dom. For example, when he first learns about the Dark Relic, he considers the possibility that it could be used to lift Anne's curse (Ne dom?). Then, in the following quest, he says that he has studied the relic and concluded that it seems to only work inside the Catacomb, so he returns there to actually try it out (Se dom?). This is what makes Anne and Ominis worry about him outside the Catacomb. When MC eventually receives Ominis's Owl and goes there with Ominis, they find Sebastian experimenting with the relic, which turns out to be used for summon and controlling Inferi, and he seems genuinely excited by it. Which reminds me of what I've read about Se-Ti:
"They live in the moment and need to constantly seek out adventure and fun, sensory experiences to keep Se happy." (source: Type in Mine, Se-Ti)
Conclusion: With all of this in mind, I personally lean more toward Se-Ti than Ne-Ti. Looking at the overall pattern, there seems to be more evidence pointing toward Se-Ti. He also doesn't seem particularly interested in exploring other possibilities once he has found one that he can act on. He's quite stubborn once he has a possible course of action in mind. For example, when Ominis suggests finding another way instead of using Dark Arts, Sebastian still insists on trying it anyway.
So I think he's most likely an ESTP (Se-Ti-Fe-Ni). Which is kind of funny because, based on my previous analysis of Ominis, I currently read him as an INFJ (Ni-Fe-Ti-Se). So basically, they use the same cognitive functions but in reverse order. No wonder they're both so stubborn about their respective perspectives lol.
