Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag [ten] friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.
The Great Gatsby-F. Scott Fitzgerald My favorite book that I had to read for high school. I loved the poetic language. It's great to read out loud
The Bell Jar-Sylvia Plath I was going through a tough time in my life when I read this, but again, I loved the poetic language and the raw look at mental illness.
I Am Malala-Malala Yousafzai Great non-fiction read for feminists, humanitarians, politicians, really anyone interested in other cultures. I could hardly put it down.
Hyperbole and a Half-Allie Brosh A very different look at mental illness. Lots of humor, kept me giggling throughout!
Perks of Being a Wallflower-Stephen Chbosky Just a fun read about young adult life, open about sexuality, growing up, and all the feelings.
Harry Potter-J.K. Rowling My first series and books that I was really excited and dedicated to, even though I never read the first one. It was my first fandom
Brave New World-Aldous Huxley Another book I really liked during high school. I dig dystopian stuff.
Paper Towns-John Green Really helped me start to move forward with exploring the feelings of my break up, realizing I was in love with the idea of my ex more than what he really was.
An Abundance of Katherines-John Green Second book to help with the break up. Recent read.
The Bible I read the entire Bible in a year in 2012. If I can take more of it to heart I think I could live a more peaceful life
