I write a lot about home

It’s a relative term in my world

They say “home is where the heart is”

They say “home is where you make it”

They say “home is where family is”

Are they all referring to the same place?

And who are “they” anyway?

Maybe I think a lot about home because I’d like to have one someday

I’ve lived in many houses

and slept under many roofs

But I’m still looking for my place in the puzzle

A spot where my piece fits snugly

What if this isn’t my picture?

and I was placed in the wrong box

What if there’s not a space for me?

It’s a fear that I have

A struggle I often face

Maybe my gift is adaptability
