So this is definitely niche but... the 1913 ballet "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky, was so extremely different and controversial that its started an actual riot in Paris over whether or not it was good. The ballet featured themes that were considered too vulgar to be a part of a true ballet and focused on ideas of ritual sacrifice, sexual innuendo, and the tragedy of youth. Both the music and choreography were experimental and a complete departure from form.
Lestat would have fucking loved every minute of it. He would have been throwing chairs and screaming at everyone to shut up so he could listen. He would have loved the music, the dancing, the chaos, and killing whoever was closest. He would also have been in New Orleans at the time and missed it. Lestat would hear about it in the paper or on the radio after the fact would be DEVASTATED that he missed the trainwreck.
Armand would have been in Paris at the time and was definitely not at that show. He definitely participated in the riot outside the building after the fact. Armand also plagiarized the plot and staging for his own plays afterwards.
