Hi Sam! I've been really trying to eat intuitively lately and I feel like every day is getting better :) That's my progress for you! Thanks for asking.
That is so good to hear! You go girl! :)
Hey girly, just wanted to say to the anon who asked about her hip earlier that stretching it is the last last last thing she should do. More stretching will only cause more inflammation. What they need to do is rest, rest, rest and ice ice ice. Ligament pulls or tears can take a long time to heal, and they're pretty serious. It may feel realllly good to stretch, but that's not what you need. Avoid stretching it right now! Rest and ice until there is no pain, then gradually go back into movement.
Ah you're totally right! I didn't even think of that. Super thank you for this! I hope anon see's it (:Â
I'd like to remind all of you that my ask box is always open!
No really, like always. Even anon.
I love answering questions, consulting with yogis (and aspiring yogis alike), and I do all of this usually privately and only publish them when I feel like the answers would benefit being put out into the blogosphere and they don't contain any personal information about the sender.
In other words... I really, really like you all. And I really, really like the yogi/fitspo/health community here on tumblr and just want to make sure you all know I'm always available for you.
If some of you are new to my blog, the short story is that I run, I do a lot of strength training, I've had and have numerous injuries that I've learned/am learning a lot from, and I'm a yoga teacher with a 200-hour YogaWorks certification under my belt. Food lights up my life, and I make sure I understand basic nutrition and experiment often with what works for me (and am always curious as to what works for other people) by doing a lot of internet searching, being a bio major, and casually talking to professors, friends, and family. Yup, that's the short of it :)
<3!

...Ouch?
A couple days ago, I found a yoga photo of me (originally posted on here- this one) pinned onto FitFluential's pinterest. The "source link" was just "tumblr.com"... obviously that doesn't redirect to my blog, arilumiere.tumblr.com, and my name or the name of my blog or the name of my photographer wasn't anywhere on the post; therefore, whoever saw it would have no idea that was me or the picture was mine. This wouldn't bother me so much it was someone's personal pinterest, but FitFluential is a really popular networking site with a ton of people looking at all of their stuff, so this did bother me. I constructed a super polite and complimentary email (saying how much I admire their network and how flattered I was they pinned my photo in the first place) asking that they just change the source to the link of my blog.
I got an email back saying "Thank you for letting us know." and I looked on their pinterest and saw they'd deleted my photo off of it.
...Ouch?
This isn't a big deal in the scheme of things, I just thought that was kind of weird. Like, what, if you have to have a correct source on the picture, you don't want it on your pinterest at all? I like to think of myself as a figure in this yoga-blogging community and I put time into this blog for everyone to read, so it hurts my feelings a little bit that now I don't get a little shot at more readers, because FitFluential didn't want to source my own picture to me.
What the heck?
note: I forgot to mention that a couple months ago I somehow stumbled onto one of FitFluential's actual blog posts, and it contained a picture I recognized of Shannen over at healthysoul.tumblr.com, that was completely unsourced. If we're talking about popular yoga bloggers, that girl is probably the biggest, so there is no way in h$ll I would believe that FitFluential didn't ever see a source on her photo. Even if they didn't, come to think of it I have never seen a source on any of FitFluential's photos. Anyway, I wrote a long comment on that blog post a couple months ago saying who the photo belonged to and included the link to her blog/how great she is and how much she deserves the credit. Can't remember how to find that post now, but I'm just silently hoping that they fixed it.
