If you ever need to find a nice dining place for a special occasion or just for a normal day, try Aria Restaurant Sydney.
I made a three month prior booking as they tend to be fully booked, with that booking for January I got the front view of the Harbour and The Quay plus the Sydney Opera House on the side.
Located at Sydney Harbour with a waterfront view of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Circular Quay
Since it was my BFF’s 21st birthday and our first fine dining restaurant we tried the Chef’s Tasting Menu to try half of the menu. That night we had tried the 4 courses for $140 without matching wine ($170). Or if you want to try the 7 course it will be $160 ($260 with matching wine)
As we had ordered the tasting menu we were welcomed with
Our first course was the Salmon
Confit fillet of king salmon with avocado, vanilla and orange.
Nice fresh salmon but I don’t know how to eat the orange with this dish. Skinned orange made the dish bitter for me.
Veal tartare with peas, Per Sè caviar and sherry vinegar dressing.
This was a complimentary dish from the chef was absolutely amazing. Veal tartare was the perfect entrée to have. The sauce made this plate delicious. I want more now…
Roasted Fremantle octopus with jamòn, potato and Espelette pepper.
This massive octopus was cooked twice which made it perfect. Not too chewy and not too hard to eat. The sauce gave the octopus and jamòn the right texture and it was a hit with us as the first main dish of the night. I am amazed on how thin and light the potato was made. It was a bit chewy but still tasted nice with the sauce.
Lamb roasted loin and neck with sugar loaf cabbage, sweetbreads, sorrel and salt bush.
This medium rare lamb was not too tough to have as the last main course for the night. It was a bit chewy for me but the tempura sorrel was sweet for me to like. This dish was ok however the octopus is still our favorite main.
Second complimentary Refresh strawberry sorbet with berries and yoghurt.
This is definitely refreshing since every ingredients in this little shot glass was perfection. It was light to help us be ready for the desserts since the last main was heavy and had us being full.
Berries tartlet of strawberries and raspberries with shortbread, yoghurt and strawberry sorbet
Even though it was nearly the same as our complimentary desert. I wasn’t a big fan of the tartlet since I didn’t think it went well with the strawberry foam. A bit bland in my opinion. The strawberry sorbet crackle was very sweet which I loved with the fresh berries
This petite fours contained peppermint truffles, sea salt and vinegar macrons, black sesame tart, chocolate and mixed nuts on the stick, peanut and caramel. Crackle and white chocolate popping candy
