#fixedbladefriday with the BFF or Bensag Fixed Fighter. Over a year ago we attended a @martialbladeconcepts knife defense course ran by @spartan.mode in Scottsdale, AZ. It was during this course that we quickly realized we needed to make changes to our blades to make them more effective and purposeful in design and application. Although we have years of actual ground combat experience behind our knives, there is very little knife “fighting” experience in that. That is when this design came to fruition. Wharncliffe style blade with a hollow ground bevel, wide handles and ergonomics to be a more efficient slashing tool all around. I cannot thank Adam @spartan.mode enough for the training, experience and practical knowledge that helped shape the direction of our designs. The Kriger Mini Finished the handle wrap on this while the electricians were finishing up getting us some serious power for the next chapter of Scorpion 6. “What’s the gap in the blade for?” 1. It is complex to hand grind a moving bevel 2. It is difficult to heat treat without warping 3. No one else does it 4. I like how it looks 5. It allows for a spring action during heavy chopping to protect the edge The Kriger was our first knife design and first where we made more than 4. The world wasn’t ready and we were handed a massive amount of hate over the design. So much that we ended up changing it, going against what we wanted to make because of what people said.
