Something that Icarus and I have latched onto whenever talking about our XD plans is how it really feels like Ardos and Eldes were meant to be some kind of foil or parallel to Michael and Jovi. Red and blue theming, siblings, one is headstrong while the other is more reserved, and they have issues involving their fathers. It's interesting to me that specifically Ardos saves Jovi, while Michael and Eldes stand by an watch.
Something that stuck with me while replaying the first bits of XD is how when telling Emili and Acri what happened, she says "strong people helped us. Big brother was there, too, so nothing bad happened." I find that interesting because it shows that despite Jovi constantly treating Michael like he can't do anything on his own, she believes she was safer because he was there, even though he actually couldn't do anything there. I think this shows a key difference in their relationships. Their bond may have been something Ardos and Eldes once had themselves, but eroded over time thanks to Greevil's Cipher shenanigans.
It makes me wish they were involved more in the story. Like maybe Eldes learns more about Michael's family situation and the death of his father and sees a bit of his younger self staring back at him. After all, Verich's transformation into "Grand Master Greevil" could be seen as the death of the father Eldes once knew and loved. And that understanding is what pushes him, for once, to step in himself and convince Greevil not to blow up the island.

Best Pokémon Villains Tournament- Individuals Bracket- Round 3: Match 6
Greevil vs Ardos
Greevil
Ardos
Matches don't get more personal than this! Father and son go head to head to find out which of the two is the people's preferred Cipher villain!
Greevil beat the Orre regional head of Cipher last Round, pulling rank as the overall grandmaster of the organisation. It was a clear 40:60 split, and while he's going up against his son, he isn't one to show mercy, and he'll be wanting to repeat the feat!
Meanwhile, Ardos also managed to defeat one of his Cipher colleagues, defeating the intimidating Dakim by an almost identical margin! In fact, Ardos earned only 3 less votes last Round than his father, making this possibly the most even matchup we'll see. Can the young prove himself to the old?
