Summary: a vision and a sign are given at the same time. And Walker is right in the middle of it.
“I hate you! You’re a liar!”
Malcom ducked as a chair flew over his head.
“Cora— hey! Put the toaster down!” Malcom’s words fell on deaf ears. Cora threw the toaster at Malcom, who caught it in mid air with ease.
Jin and Alex watched from a safe distance.
“For someone so small she sure does know how to make a wreak.” Jin mumbled to Alex.
Alex frowns “What is she so upset about? I swear she was just drawing outside yesterday.”
“Walker. Hasn’t contacted in over a month, there’s talk about her being dead. Guess the talk reached Cora.” Jin watched the usual quiet girl scream at Malcom making a scene that many wonder if they should laugh, or turn away.
Some were already doing both.
So’lek grabbed Cora from behind. Taking the chair she had in her hands.
“What is the meaning of this little one?”
Cora struggled against the Na’vis hold.
“He said mama was coming back—“
So’lek let go of Cora. The young girl looked at So’lek.
“You said she would come back!”
So’lek watched the young girl hold back tears.
“Everyone says she’s dead… if she isn’t coming back don’t lie to me! I’m not a baby, just tell me the truth!”
It was silent. Cora doesn’t care if she’s being dramatic. She just wants to know the truth. If her mom is dead, she needs to know now.
Grieving her whole life is better than waiting for someone who would never come back to her.
Before Malcom could say anything. Priya’s high pitch voice broke through the silence. Like the excited high pitch voice she has when she finds something exciting.
“Guys! Walker just sent a signal!”
Priya had her eyes focused on her tablet.
“The signals weak, but it looks like it’s coming from the the silk forest, between the High loom camp and the RDA facility that built up a last week.”
Everyone looked at each other in shock. It didn’t take any longer for Malcom to rush to Anqa and shouted for Priya to send him the coordinates.
So’lek gave Cora a look, as if to tell her to stay. He went off following Delgado out of HQ. Priya looked up from her Tablet and realized the mess of the kitchen.
“Whoa, what happened here?”
Sa’nop, is old. But his spirit is young. His days of running through the forest, doing risky adventures for perfect ingredients, were long gone. But that doesn’t stop him from still doing it though.
But the sky people sure do make it hard to have adventures nowadays. Sa’nop isn’t a fighter, isnt much of a good hunter either. Sa’nop is lucky enough to not run into any of those Sky people and their metal contraptions.
But luck seems to not be on his side today.
As he was gathering fruit for a dish that brought some good memories from the past. Sky people caught sight of him.
He didn’t have time to run, no time to reach for his bow.
But as if by some miracle, someone came in to save the day. A young na’vi! Or so he thought.
She came out from the trees behind him. Loud and violent. He movements sloppy but she got the job done. Sa’nop watched the girl rip out one of the sky people from their metal armor. He could hear the human cry out before a loud crack cut it off.
The body went limp and the girl threw it to the ground carelessly.
Breathing heavy, stumbling a little before looking to Sa’nop himself. The elder than seems to be able to take a better look of the one who saved him.
Four fingers. A Dreamwalker!
Sa’nop slowly approaching the Dreamwalker.
The dream Walker stumbled back a little. Holding her arm out to Sa’nop. Not for help. But as if a warning to stay back.
The dream walker’s eye lids were getting heavier and heavier. It wasn’t long till the dream Walker fell to the ground with a solid thud.
Sa’nop rushed to her side. Now closer, he sees the cuts and bruises on the skin of the Dreamwalker. Without hesitation the old man used all of his strength to drag the Dreamwalker’s body to a nearby cave. Saying a prayer under his breath to Eywa to help him keep this child Dreamwalker alive.
Mo’at gasped awake. Her hand goes to her heart, calming herself down. Immediately, she left her tent and rushed to Jakesully.
Neytiri and Jake were in their tent, having a small laugh as they were going down memory lane. Neytiri looked up from Jake to see her mother standing at the entrance of their tent.
After a moment, the three sat in a circle.
“Eywa sent a vision. A vision of the past, your past Jakesully. Coming back to you.”
Jake a Neytiri shared a look.
“Is this a good, or bad version.” Jake prays to Eywa it’s good.
“I saw pain and blood. Hate and fear.” She put her hand up to silence Jakesully who was already going to cut her off.
“I saw closure, love. Unity. And acceptance.” Mo’at watched the two processed her words. The vision was sudden, as sudden as a gust of wind. It seemed cryptic to Jake and Neytiri, the first part of the vision shot fear in their hearts.
But the last part. Unity and love? Something Pandora used to be, whatever this past is that is coming to Jake. It will strike down pain and blood. Hate and fear.
But will also give closure and acceptance. Something many people need right now.
Neytiri watched her mother, she could sense something her mother was hiding from them. But she dared not question the Tsahik of her clan.
Mo’at was hiding something. A part of the vision that she felt needed to be held to herself. The vision of Jakesully’s past came in the form of another Dreamwalker. A Dreamwalker that did not share his blood, but shared a bond that could be one of kin. They shared strong hearts and bravery, a true warrior.
But right now, this Dreamwalker is scared, and filled with pain, hate and feared. And most of all, Dangerous.
The Dreamwalker’s eyes slowly opened. A groan escaping her lips, feeling a sharp pain in her ribs. She looks down to see she was patched up. But with leaves and cloth. The Dreamwalker eyes darted around, seeing the unfamiliar surroundings. She nearly jumped when she heard a voice speak.
She quickly sat up and reached to her side to grab a gun, out of instinct. But of course there was no gun.
She looked up to the voice. A Na’vi man. The Na’vi she rescued earlier to be exact. It wasn’t long till she contacted the dots.
“Lay back down. You must rest.”
The Na’vi watched the confusion cross the young Dreamwalkers face. He seems to understand now as he points to himself, tapping his chest.
The Dreamwalker paused, processing the foreign word.
The Na’vi chuckled and shook his head.
“Sa’nop, Sa’nop.” He became more dramatic with the pronunciation. The Dreamwalker slowly nods before attempting the name again.
“Sa’nop.” You repeat the words, sounding like a baby to the older one.
Sa’nop nods and points to you. You paused before pointing to yourself.
“(Name)…” you said it slowly. Sa’nop repeated the name in a whispered tone.
“(Name) what an odd name. But many of you sky people are odd.”
Again, the Dreamwalker was confused. Not understanding a lick of what was just said. Sa’nop laughed.
“Eat, you are too skinny and weak.”
Sa’nop handed over a bowl filled with steaming soup. It looked like soup. Sa’nop watched the Dreamwalker look at the bowl in her hands curiously. Sniffing it before taking a glance up to the Na’vi who kind of just saved her butt.
Not wanting to be rude, she took a sip. Then another sip. Suddenly you’re downing the bowl of soup. Sa’nop watched with amusement.
The dream Walker set the bowl down. Bowing her head a little.
The small gesture of gratitude made Sa’nop smile.
“Here, eat more.” He continued to fill your bowl multiple times till you couldn’t eat no more.
You don’t remember how you even escaped the RDA. You know Ardmore sent you back to Harding, who wasn’t really doing a good job as head security now that you think more on it.
You remember seeing your weapons and other belongings, and used all your strength to rip off the damn shock collar that activated every 15 minutes. Than grabbed your things and bolted. How you made it out without a built between your eyes was something not even you knew.
Now, you have this old Na’vi man nursing you back to health. Feeding you food constantly. You swear, Sa’nop won’t let you be without food in your mouth.
“Ow!” The Dreamwalker hissed in pain. Sa’nop clicked his tongue.
“Hush. You will be stuck with this pain forever if you do not endure the pain now.”
Even if you didn’t know what in the world he was saying. You could tell by the tone he was telling you to suck it up.
A heavy sigh left the Dreamwalker’s lips.
Your not sure how long it’s been. You’ve been stuck in this cave. Doing nothing but eating and laying on the ground staring at the rocks and fauna. Sa’nop is trying to help. But it’s hard for him to help you when you don’t understand what he’s saying.
Once you were able to walk, Sa’nop forced you to fish with a spear. It was so random, most of all embarrassing because you couldn’t catch squat.
One day, Sa’nop was gathering. You came along, hoping you can map out the area. But it’s sort of hard to try and memorize surroundings when everything you saw was trees.
Sa’nop handed the Dreamwalker some sort of fruit. She took it, taking a bite out of it, her ears twitched as her eyes widen.
It brings joy to Sa’nop to see you enjoy the fruits Eywa provides. You see everything with wide eyes, like a child seeing the world for the first time.
Suddenly, loud shooting was heard, immediately the Dreamwalker dropped to the ground. Grabbing the older man to the ground with you to cover.
You crawled over to a nearby rock. Peeking over. You see RDA, three AMP suits, three soldiers. And a scorpion in the middle.
Sa’nop peeks over your shoulder and sees what you were looking at. He frowns and grabs your arm.
“Come child. It’s not safe.”
You look back at the Na’vi man trying to lead you away from the danger. The two of you hear another shot echo in the air. The two look back to the sky people and see they shot down a large animal.
From what you know those things aren’t aggressive. The slightest noise scares them away.
You glanced and see Sa’nop looks upset. Anger and sadness mixes in his eyes.
The Dreamwalker’s brows furrowed. A slight pain in her chest. She grabbed her gun the had fallen to the ground, and ran off to the Sky people before Sa’nop could even grab hold of her again.
You hid behind a large tree close to where the RDA were posted. You checked your ammo. Not much, but as long as you don’t miss, you should be able to take them all out.
You peeked from the tree. You spot one AMP and two soldiers right near the the scorpion.
You pointed the gun scorpion, aiming at the weak spot. As soon as you shoot, you went back to hiding behind the tree as the explosion went off.
There should be one soldier and two AMP suits left. You slowly crept around to the soldier who was far from the two AMP suits, using your knife to slit her throat.
You climbed up to a large rock near by and shot at the AMP suit from behind, catching the other one’s attention. With no other place for cover, you use the AMP suit you shot down as cover, letting out a grunt as you lift it up and started running towards the other AMP who was shooting.
The moment you got close, you used the knife to stab at weak spots, twisting and pushing.
You ripped the soldier out of the AMP suit and roughly threw him at the rock you shot from nearby.
You began to catch your breath. You catch Sa’nop emerging from the hiding spot from before and ran towards you.
Immediately began to check for any injuries. It wasn’t long till her noticed the injury on your side had opened up again, bleeding through your bandages.
You gave the Na’vi a smile of reassurance, even though it hurt like hell now the adrenaline was gone.
Sa’nop grabbed your arm. The two of you began to walk away from the messy scene, but stopped the moment a loud noise came.
The two of you look up to see a scorpion in the air, awfully close. They spotted you two. You held your gun up and pulled the trigger. Of course, you just had to be out of ammo right there and than.
“Shit-“ you attempt to cover Sa’nop. If you were going to die in this damn body. Minus well die protecting a Na’vi who should have left you for dead.
Before the scorpion could fire, an Ikran came flying down, grabbing and smashing the scorpion.
You watched with wide eyes. It was fast, and strong. You looked to Sa’nop who was smiling at the sight.
The rider of the banshee lands a few feet away from the two.
“Tsahik Etuwa, I see you”
Sa’nop stood in front of the Dreamwalker, greeting the Tsahik.
Etuwa, tilted her head to look at the Dreamwalker behind the elder.
“She is no threat Tsahik, she is injured and needs help.”
Sa’nop gestures to the open wound on the Dreamwalker. Etuwa’s ears slick back, looking the Dreamwalker up and down with suspicion.
“Is she apart of the resistance?”
Etuwa walked closer, inspecting the Dreamwalker who seemed to get a better look at the Na’vi woman. The two met eyes. The Dreamwalker noted the unique beauty of the Na’vi of this one.
You froze. Why the hell did you say that? She can’t understand you!
You mentally beat yourself in embarrassment.
The Na’vi woman stood straight staring you down.
“You are with the resistance no?” Etuwa surprised the Dreamwalker by speaking her language. All she could do was nod.
Etuwa took in the mess you had made. Noted how weak you looked. In seconds, eclipse came. Etuwa and Sa’nop looked up and see saplings. A lot of them, floating down.
Etuwa stepped back, watching the saplings float around the Dreamwalker. It was a sight never seen before to the two Na’vi.
The Dreamwalker watched with wide eyes, poking gently at one of the saplings. Letting out a small smile.
Etuwa and Sa’nop looked at each other in disbelief. Etuwa collected herself before speaking.
“You fight good. And protected one of my people.” Etuwa looked back to Sa’nop.
“Bring her to hometree. I will tend to her there. A heard of Pali are nearby.”
Sa’nop nods and quickly lead the Dreamwalker away. The Dreamwalker couldn’t look away from the Na’vi woman who mounted her Ikran, taking one last look at the Dreamwalker before flying off.
“Come child, stop gawking!” Sa’nop slapped the side of her head, snapping her out of her trance.
A sign was given. Etuwa hopes her father will listen.
