The Ledaig Castaway is an exciting release from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. Ledaig (pronounced “Lih-tscheig”) has traditionally been synonymous with the distillery’s heavily peated single malts. With the Castaway edition, the distillery has opted for an extraordinary cask finish: maturation in a combination of rum and tequila casks.

The fruity sweetness of the rum perfectly balances the powerful smokiness, while the tequila casks add a surprising freshness and complex spiciness.

The Tormore 16-Year-Old is the crowning jewel of the core range from this spectacularly designed Speyside distillery. Known as the “Pearl of Speyside” due to its impressive listed architecture, Tormore has, for many years, supplied its outstanding single malt primarily for use in well-known blends.

Since Elixir Distillers acquired the distillery, Tormore has made a remarkable comeback. The 16-Year-Old serves as the mature flagship expression at the top of the core range.

Kilchoman Rockside 11 Year Old

What makes this bottling special is its consistent approach: it is a true Single Farm Single Malt. From sowing the barley on the distillery's own Rockside Farm to traditional floor malting, distillation, 11 years of maturation, and bottling, every single step takes place on the farm on Islay.

Compared to the heavily peated whiskies typical of many Islay distilleries (which often range from 40–50 ppm), the distillery's own Rockside barley, peated to 20 ppm, is more subtle and elegant. This allows the whisky's fruity and malty notes to shine through.

Longrow Whisky 100° Proof Batch No. 2

Longrow is the name given to Springbank’s heavily peated single malt. While the barley malt for the classic Springbank is kilned over a peat fire for about six hours, the process for Longrow lasts a full 48 hours. In addition, Longrow is double distilled. The result is a characterful, oily, smoky whisky that is often compared to the powerful expressions from the island of Islay, yet retains its own distinct maritime character and unmistakable Campbeltown spice.

Santa Teresa Rum 1796 Antiguo de Solera

The Santa Teresa 1796 Antiguo de Solera is regarded worldwide as one of the most elegant and masterfully crafted rums from Venezuela. It was created in 1996 to mark the 200th anniversary of the historic Hacienda Santa Teresa in the fertile Aragua Valley.

In keeping with time-honored craftsmanship, the rum is matured using a complex, multi-stage Solera process.

The Laphroaig 15 Years Old is one of the Islay distillery’s most legendary bottlings. It differs markedly from the impetuous, medicinal, and smoky character of the well-known 10-year-old expression and is regarded by connoisseurs as one of Laphroaig’s most elegant creations.

The GlenAllachie 15 Years Old is the absolute jewel of the Speyside distillery’s core range. Since the legendary Master Distiller Billy Walker took over the distillery in 2017, the brand has experienced an impressive renaissance. This 15-year-old single malt perfectly demonstrates how the harmonious combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks bestows a first-class spirit with exceptional depth, complexity, and distinctive character.

Kilchoman Whisky Maury Cask Matured Limited Edition 2026

In March 2026, the Islay distillery Kilchoman released the Kilchoman Maury Cask Matured Limited Edition 2026 – a genuine first and a highlight for Islay whisky enthusiasts.

What makes this bottling special is that it is not merely a short finishing period (secondary maturation), but a full-term maturation. The single malt spent its entire maturation period in casks that had previously held Maury, a naturally sweet French fortified wine.

What is Maury, and why is it so exciting?

Maury is a protected naturally sweet fortified wine (Vin Doux Naturel) from the Roussillon region in southern France, produced primarily from Grenache Noir grapes. In terms of flavour, it is reminiscent of a full-bodied Port, but often offers even more intense dark fruit notes and subtle oxidative spice.

Bruichladdich Whisky: The Classic Laddie

When you think of whisky from the Scottish island of Islay, peaty smoke usually comes to mind immediately. Yet Bruichladdich’s „The Classic Laddie“ completely defies this stereotype. It is the distillery’s flagship expression and proves that Islay can also be quite different: elegant, fruity and completely unpeated.

Bruichladdich describes itself as Progressive Hebridean Distillers. With „The Classic Laddie“, the distillery places maximum emphasis on transparency and craftsmanship:

100% Scottish barley: Only barley grown in Scotland is used, with some batches even containing barley sourced directly from Islay.

No fixed recipe: Every barley harvest and every cask type is slightly different, so no two batches taste exactly the same. On the back of every bottle is a code that allows you to look up the exact cask composition of your whisky on the distillery’s website.

Unadulterated: The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured with caramel. Its pale golden colour comes entirely from the casks. Higher bottling strength: Bottled at a robust 50% ABV, it delivers remarkable flavour intensity without being harsh on the palate.

The Ledaig Castaway is one of the most exciting—and boldest—releases the Scottish Tobermory Distillery, located on the Isle of Mull, has brought to market in recent years. If you love peated whisky but are looking for a truly unconventional flavour profile, this special release, launched in May 2026, is just the thing for you.

The absolute highlight of this single malt is its extraordinary cask maturation. For this release, Master Blender Julieann Fernandez completely dispensed with the distillery's usual ex-bourbon casks. Instead, the typically heavily peated Ledaig spirit (approx. 35 ppm) was matured in a rare combination of Caribbean rum casks and Mexican tequila casks.

The result is a fascinating marriage of Scottish island peat smoke and sun-kissed tropical cask influences.

Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection – Glen Grant 30 Years Old

The Wolfburn Small Batch No. 416 (10 Years Old) is a truly special release from the still relatively young yet highly acclaimed distillery in Thurso – Scotland’s northernmost mainland distillery.

This limited edition marks two milestones at once: it is the first 10-year-old release in Wolfburn’s Small Batch series and, at the same time, the first bottling in the range that has not merely undergone a finishing period but has matured entirely for 10 years in an exotic cask type.

The story behind the name ‘416’

The number 416 is not a marketing gimmick but a precise designation of origin. It refers to the exact location of the casks in the warehouses near the coast of Thurso: Warehouse 4, Row (Stow) 16.

Back in 2016, the team secured a small selection of exceptional first-fill Ruby Port Pipes from Portugal’s renowned Douro Valley and filled them directly with fresh Wolfburn new make spirit. After a decade of maturation, a total of 3,900 bottles were released worldwide in the spring of 2026.

The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is an exclusive Highland single malt release, created in collaboration between the famous Hollywood actor Harrison Ford and Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden.

The partnership came about as part of the tongue-in-cheek advertising campaign ‘Once Upon a Time in Scotland’.
