What a sweet book this is. Alphonse is a delicate airhead Bachelor who relies on his valet Jacobi for any and all things including decisions, plans and marriage advice. Alphonse enters into a lavendar marriage to the ever competent Aaliyah in an arrangement that allows them to rebel against 1920s England, a time when same sex relationships were not allowed. Only Alphonse is so clueless he is always the last one to figure anything out! It's very funny and cute and a little like a warm hug.
