This villa was shaped for air, light, and horizon. A tropical refuge suspended on the cliff where design becomes an open dialogue with the ocean.
Ancestral skeletal forms are effective due to their responsiveness to environmental factors and community needs. In cliffside resorts, these dynamics become more pronounced as engineering demands increase, geometric constraints become stricter, and material cycles accelerate. Nevertheless, the sculptural language of vernacular assemblies continues to inform how shared spaces achieve a sense of groundedness and openness. I am currently compiling references to support a more comprehensive study.
Excellent resort planning begins with a simple question. What does the land want to become? Our villa resort concept shows how geometry, vegetation, and elevation guide each decision. Curved forms soften the guest experience. Roof pitches break the afternoon sun. The shoreline strip stabilizes activity, keeping the villas serene. Design directs movement and emotion when every choice supports the site's story. Which design element stands out to you at first glance?
Slowly building up character. The exposed concrete creates a sculpted terrain that sets the tone for future circulation. The skylight openings establish the rhythm of daylight long before glass arrives. Every scaffold and temporary brace reveals how ambitious curves negotiate gravity. What detail do you study first when evaluating a site with organic geometry?

In this project, the old façade became a filter. The envelope became a climate control device. We kept its rhythm and added an internal steel lattice that supports new floors, allowing the brick shell to breathe. Natural porous concrete, green walls, and passive air stacks created airflow. Adaptive reuse is a subtraction methodology, removing the unnecessary until the structure teaches you what to keep. www.ianfulgar.com
Hospitality is evolving. In our current 250-key hotel project, the ground floor plan integrates modern guest expectations with the operational demands of scale. Spaces like the lounge, all-day dining, and concierge are designed for flexibility and future growth.
