Arched Harp (shoulder harp) ca. 1390β1295 B.C. | New Kingdom This type of portable, boat-shaped arched harp ππππ’ βbn.tβ was common during the New Kingdom and is shown in the hands π§π§ βmαΈ₯.wyβ of processional female musicians ππππ ±π βαΈ«nwβ performing alone π‘ππ ¨ βwΛβ or in ensembles with singers ππΏπ΄ππ βαΈ₯syβ, wind instruments, sistrums π΄ππππ£ βsΕ‘Ε‘.tβ , and rattles. The end of the arched frame is decorated with the head of a Nubian π ππ΄ππ βnαΈ₯syβ captive πΉπ βΛnαΈ«β who appears to be bound by the strings of the harp.
