Bruised and amused. The Arc de Triomph, a distinguished tourist node of Paris, was much easier to locate than expected. Perhaps what contributed to the convenience was the metro stop nearest to the monument being eponymous of it. This is a tactic taken on by less cities than you’d expect: naming stops after notable monument or attractions near it.  Anyway, this is the smile of someone who was just begun their trip, in awe that the first visited tourist node would be the one she’s daydreamed about visiting since 9th grade french class.
