Sp Special Containment Part 18
If you are new to this story or just need a reminder of how it is going, please use the hashtag Sp Special Containment to get caught up.
Whumpee leaned forward against the restraints so they could get better aim into the bucket.
They screamed as more puke came out.
"It is so hard... to throw up with these restraints", Whumpee complained.
"I know Whumpee", Caretaker looked at them sadly. They wished they could help more, "I'm sorry."
Whumpee was still in the medical wing.
They found it may not be food poisoning. More tests were running to see what was going on.
Whumpee was halfway through their IV at this point. They felt so gross now.
Whumpee was in a hospital bed designed for the weapons. The straps were just like how the wheelchair contained them. With the exception of their arms. They could be strapped in different positions for comfort and necessity. The bed could could also recline and be positioned in different ways depending on how the weapon wanted to rest or sit.
Whumpee sat up and leaned forward as much as the straps would allow. Caretaker held the bucket up for them for easy access.
Caretaker sighed as he wiped Whumpee's face again.
"I'm... sorry... Caretaker", Whumpee looked up weakly.
"It's not your fault. I'm sorry you're sick", Caretaker comforted, "let me get a new wash cloth for you."
Cass slid pass the guard, "still not feeling well?"
"No", Whumpee pouted, "I'm surprised I haven't puked my stomach out yet", they groaned.
The doctor came in behind Cass, "how's the patient? I just heard more throwing up."
"Is it possible to throw up organs.... because I think that's next to come up. I don't have anything else in me", Whumpee sighed.
"If it makes you feel better, we have found the culprit and cause", the doctor announced, "it's definitely food poisoning. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff had a new person prepping breakfast. They didn't pay attention to the dates on the packages. Expired food ended up in your breakfast."
"How does something like that happen? Their food is monitored so strictly. A new person shouldn't be handling food like that. At least not without supervision", Caretaker frowned, "this is not a good situation."
"I know. The Director is already aware and dealing with it", the doctor sighed, "on the positive side, this should only last a day or so, and I now know how to treat it. The negative side is that Whumpee is severally uncomfortable. We do not want to see any of our patients like this. Especially not the weapons, because of their survival mode possibly getting triggered."
Whumpee leaned into the bucket and gagged.
"I can't do.... do this anymore. It hurts too much to puke. Especially with the straps limiting my movements", Whumpee leaned back sorely.
"I understand. If Caretaker is okay with it, we can treat you while you're in your room", the doctor nodded, "I'd like to see you finish that IV first before you get moved back. At least so you're hydrated. Unfortunately, you can't take it with you because of the needle. You need to drink a lot of water, and there is a type of juice you can drink to help you with electrolytes and other good things that you are throwing up. You may need to come back tomorrow for another IV as well."
Whumpee nodded, " I am so tired."
"That is fine to have them back in their room. Just tell me what you'll need me to do for them", Caretaker stood, "they've had a long day, their room will be the best place for them."
Whumpee weakly fell into their bed.
"Thankyou for cleaning up in here... it smelt so bad", Whumpee frowned as Caretaker placed their puke bucket beside the bed, "I don't know if I have anything else to throw up."
"Cass and Andy cleaned it up for us", Caretaker smiled, "it definitely wasn't a good smell."
Whumpee looked around, "I never thought I'd miss this room so much, but I'm so happy to be in here again."
"I'm sure you are", Caretaker nodded.
"Okay, so remember what doctor said. You need to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and this juice to help feel better", Caretaker placed Whumpee's drinks next to them, "doctor also said to get some rest. How about the guards play some soft music to help you fall asleep."
Caretaker pulled the blankets up for Whumpee and reached for their stuffie.
"I'm glad this didn't get dirty", Whumpee inspected it after Caretaker handed it to them, "I would have been really sad. It is the first comfort item I've had in a long time."
"Yes, I'm glad as well", Caretaker knelt beside the bed, "I will be around for another hour or so before I go to my room for the night. During the night, the doctor will have a nurse up here to help you in case you get sick again. I will tell you goodnight right before I'm off though... just like normal."
Whumpee nodded, eyes growing heavier, "could you please tell Aramais that I am okay. I know he was worried earlier."
"I will definitely let him know. I'll go tell him right now for you", Caretaker gently rubbed Whumpee's head and watched their eyes grow even heavier, "Goodnight Whumpee, get some rest."
Whumpee made a few small moans before they went completely out.
Caretaker waited quietly for a few minutes before signaling to the guards to buzz him out.
"Alright", Caretaker came around, "please let me know if there are any updates. Like I said a nurse will be up here to help with Whumpee through the night, but I can be called in as well."
Cass watched from the side, "I feel like I jinxed everyone this morning when I was hoping for more excitement."
"It's your fault", a guard turned with a grin.
"Sorry", Cass looked down with an embarrassed smile.
"It's the kitchen's fault", Caretaker frowned, "they need to pay more attention to what is going on. The weapons require strict diets for a reason", Caretaker sighed, "Whumpee hasn't eaten anything today because of this. The one meal they did eat was poison."
"They didn't even get any cookies today either", a guard frowned.
"I tried to give them some earlier. They had no interest", Caretaker pulled a bag from their pocket, "you know they're sick when they don't want any cookies."
"Well, I am going to let Aramais know that Whumpee is okay", Caretaker started for the door, "Cass I'm sure not much else is going to happen tonight. I hope at least. If you want to, you can go see how Mitch is doing. It will be lights out pretty soon for everyone. You're not use to the evening rounds. If you need help, you can message me, I'll be happy to help you."
"Yes sir, thankyou for training me today", Cass grinned, "I appreciate it."
"You're welcome. I hope you learned the second lesson..", Caretaker watched Cass's questioning gaze, "don't hope for action. You will absolutely jinx yourself, and have a hectic day."
"I definitely learned that", Cass nodded.
Aramais looked up when the buzzer went off.
"Oh, Caretaker! Um, sorry", Aramais lifted his blanket to cover his chest.
"No, no, you're fine", Caretaker entered fully and closed the door, "sorry to bother you, I know you're getting ready for bed."
Aramais nodded, "how's Whumpee?"
"That's why I'm here. Whumpee wanted me to let you know they were back in their room and doing alright. It was food poisoning from breakfast. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff wasn't paying attention and let something get pass them", Caretaker took a seat, "they will probably be down for a few days, but not too long. The doctor is watching them closely, and they have a nurse who will stay nearby for tonight."
Aramais looked down, "I'm so thankful that they're okay. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to Whumpee and Jaimie."
"Even when you get purple nurpled", Caretaker grinned and eyed Aramais's chest.
"Even then", Aramais laughed lightly as they looked down to where Caretaker was looking.
"I know you are self-conscious about the scars on your chest and back, and I won't ask about it, though I will happily listen if you want to share the story", Caretaker looked back up to look at Aramais's face, "don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed by something that happened to you in the past. No one in this facility will see you as weak for having those."
Aramais nodded, "I was, uhm", Aramais looked down again, "I was captured on one of my missions. My partner had gotten out and abandoned me for dead. Which was normal. We believed in fend for yourself, even when partnered with someone else. I was held prisoner and subjected to torture for months before I was able to escape."
Aramais sighed, "once I was out I had no where to go so I staggered all of the way back to the organization. Which looking back was a stupid choice, but I was young still", Aramais paused to control his shaking, "I thought I would receive some sort of comfort for what I had gone through... I didn't. I was subjected to rigorous questioning to make sure I hadn't become a traitor. After that, I was used as an example to the others. I was told that I should have killed myself. That would have been the best way to honor the organization."
Aramais moved the blanket to let Caretaker get a better look at the damage.
"They called them traitor markings. I was told to wear them shamefully", Aramais sighed, "to remember and remind others not to mess up. Even though I wasn't a traitor."
Caretaker sighed, then stood and walked to Aramais's bed, "the more I learn about you weapons, the harder I want to work to make all of you more comfortable. I want to work to protect you three so much."
Aramais smiled, "I can promise you. At least speaking for Jaimie, Whumpee, and myself. We feel the love and care you all give us, and we appreciate it. Even if it was half of what all of you do for us, it's would be appreciated more than you know."
Caretaker reached down and patted Aramais on the shoulder, "we are always happy to take care of you all. I'm just sorry for what all of you went through. I wish I could take it all away and let you three have normal lives."
Aramais smiled, "it's okay... I'm just glad I'm here now. I wouldn't have been able to meet all of you had I been given a normal life."
"Caretaker, I apologize the lights are about to dim" a guard came over the radio.
"I need to be going anyways. Aramais needs some sleep", Caretaker started to the door.
"Thankyou Caretaker", Aramais smiled, "I really appreciate you and all you do. You always know the right things to say."
Caretaker turned and smiled, "you're welcome Aramais. Have a good night."
"You too" Aramais watched them leave, then laid back down.
Caretaker watched Mcgee step out from Jaimie's monitor room.
They waved when they looked up and Caretaker waved back.
Caretaker wandered down a few halls in deep thought over the weapons. They were even able to watch Cass exit the facility to go home.
"They have so much promise", Caretaker whispered, "I just hope they don't get hurt doing this job."
Caretaker stretched tiredly, "well, you old man, I think it's time for bed. You may be getting a little to old for this now, but Whumpee still needs you. Retirement was never an option anyways I guess. Let's get to bed."

It's day 2 of the Daily Drawing Sequel and I already almost missed it, I'm so tired
Sp Special Containment part 20
"Come in", the Director looked up from the notes on his desk.
"Hey, good morning", Caretaker stepped in.
"Good morning", the Director nodded, "how are you doing?"
"Doing alright. I was outside for a cup of coffee before I went to check on Whumpee. You know it snowed a lot last night."
"I know, it's freezing out there", the Director leaned back in their chair, "is there a reason you're telling me about the snow?"
"Can we take the three of them outside. They haven't been out in months. I bet they all would like it if they could see the snow", Caretaker smiled, "Whumpee said they would like to see it in person. We should grant that wish for them."
"That's unfortunately a security risk", the Director frowned, "the guards won't be able to secure an outside perimeter for them."
"So we just keep them in their chairs. The guards stand ready just in case", Caretaker couldn't help but get excited, "I really want to do this. Cass is helping Mcgee today. So they can help out too."
"Caretaker, I know you have this big goal to get them outside. I agree with you, it would be nice to do this for them. But, we have to consider everything. We are still building our weapons unit. Maybe at some time we can think about giving them more activities. I would love to give Jaimie a gym and do a porch for them. That would give them a better quality of life. I want that for them. They can't even shower yet. I heard about Jaimie yesterday."
"Can we try please", Caretaker pleaded, "I'll take the blame if anything happens. It's just us and the guards. No one else will be outside."
The Director finally sighed after thinking for a few minutes, "they will need warm clothes."
"Really?", Caretaker smiled excitedly.
"Yes", the Director nodded with a sheepish grin, "help Andy and Mcgee with getting warmer clothes. You should show Cass how to do it as well. I'll meet with everyone by the cafeteria, and I'll alert the guards and have them get ready."
"Do they know what to do in this type of situation?", Caretaker questioned.
"They do. I did have them train for outside instances. Just in case there was an escape attempt or if someone pulled my arm enough. The things I've allowed for these weapons."
Caretaker excitedly opened Whumpee's door after the buzzer.
Whumpee looked up from a bag of cookies.
"Hey, get changed into these. I need to get you in your wheel chair", Caretaker laughed.
"What's going on? Is everything okay?", Whumpee looked at them worriedly.
"I promise you'll love this. Get changed, I'll be right back", Caretaker smiled.
Andy grinned as they carried the warm clothes into Aramais's room.
Aramais looked up, then eyed the clothes.
"Will you allow me to surprise you. The Director is allowing us to do something special for you guys", Andy set the clothes down, "I can't tell you though. You'll have to trust me."
Aramais frowned but nodded, "I hate surprises, but I'm curious now."
"Great, I'm going to get your chair. Go ahead and get changed. I'll be right back", Andy opened the door, and left a confused Aramais.
Jaimie was also confused but was excited to get new clothes to wear.
"These are so cute", she exclaimed while looking at the sweater and coat.
Aramais showed up at the meeting place first.
The Director grinned.
"Andy says you guys are surprising us. I'm not the greatest with surprises", Aramais grinned.
"I know, the weapons don't respond well to unscheduled things. That one said he was taking the blame for this", the Director pointed.
Aramais turned and saw Caretaker who had a giant grin on his face.
"Well, I haven't seen Whumpee since they were rushed past me. How are you feeling?", Aramais smiled.
"I'm not sick anymore thankfully. I'm just weak now, and my stomach is still a little queasy", Whumpee explained, "it hurts to throw up so much."
Aramais nodded, "yeah, I bet."
"There is Jaimie", the Director looked up.
"She looks better than when I saw her last as well", Aramais commented.
"Mcgee did my nails for me", Jaimie wiggled her fingers, "it made me feel better last night."
"They uh, look good" Aramais awkwardly commented, "sparkly."
"So we are all here. What's the surprise?", Aramais looked back at the Director.
"Guards, project snow is a go", the Director announced.
Several guards stepped forward.
The weapons were being pushed before they could react.
"Wait... are we going outside?", Whumpee looked up at Caretaker.
Caretaker reached over the chair and pulled Whumpee's hood up for them.
Andy and Mcgee did the same for Aramais and Jaimie.
"Outside?", Jaimie looked up excitedly, "look it's snowing again."
Aramais laughed, "it's been a while since I've been out there."
"You have no idea how much begging I had to do to get you guys outside", Caretaker laughed, "I know Whumpee was excited when they heard it snowed. I thought this would be a fun activity."
Cass watched excitedly as everyone was taken into different directions.
The guards stood in a perimeter around the area. No one was allowed past them.
Caretaker was placing snowballs in Whumpee's hand.
Whumpee giggled excitedly as Caretaker would then break the snow ball over their head and let it fall on them.
Andy hung back with Aramais. They both watched everyone playing.
Mcgee was pushing Jaimie through the snow as fast as they could.
Aramais laughed at everyone's happiness.
The Director couldn't help himself. He knelt down and made a snowball. He looked around and lightly tossed it at Aramais.
Aramais jumped, and looked up in the direction it came from.
"Sorry, I had too", the Director laughed.
Aramais grinned, "sure, target the one who can't fight back."
Andy reached over and brushed the snow away from Aramais.
"Do you want to do anything out here?", Andy laughed.
"I would love to throw a snowball back at the Director", Aramais whispered, "I'm enjoying this though. I've missed being outside."
"I'll throw one", Andy knelt down and started to pack the snow, "dare me to do it."
Aramais grinned and nodded.
The Director happened to turn away to see what Whumpee was doing when the snow hit them in the back.
"Bullseye", Aramais yelled excitedly.
The Director looked at both of them.
Andy quickly pointed at Aramais.
"You got a good arm on you Andy", the Director chuckled.
Jaimie screamed as she and Mcgee ran past the group.
"How does Mcgee have so much energy", Cass stood next to the Director.
"Agent Mcgee use to be a field agent. She would go out and protect researchers on the field. When the three weapons came here Jaimie requested to have a female help her. She had some issues in the past with males. I started to work on finding a female as I didn't have one readily available. I wanted to give Jaimie what she needed, though, so she could be comfortable. I asked Mcgee if she would be willing to help take care of Jaimie until I could find a replacement. Mcgee is honestly a very powerful agent, very strong and courageous. I know Jaimie likes that about her. Mcgee asked me a while back if she could be moved to doing this job permanently. She loves taking care of Jaimie. She's almost like a mom to Jaimie."
Cass watched Jaimie and Mcgee pause to look at a small snowman Caretaker had built on Whumpee's lap. Aramais also asked to get closer to see.
"The weapons we house here. All four of them have gone through so much. This place is their home now. All of them deserve some normalcy. I hope to be able to do things like this more often. I want to return to them what they may have lost when they were turned into weapons."
Aramais looked up and smiled.
"They deserve it. That's why I'm hoping Mitch will come around for us", the Director smiled back at Aramais, "I know he was hurt just as much as these three. He deserves to find happiness too."

SP SPECIAL CONTAINMENT Part 22
"Bring out Aramais. Bring him out, or else Cass gets what's do to them", Mitch pulled Cass around like a rag doll.
Andy watches helplessly as Cass is carried around the huge room.
Cass is holding tightly onto Mitch's wrist as the weapon clutches their shirt collar.
"Okay, I'll get Aramais. Please don't kill Cass", Andy finally yells.
"Go, run and get him", Mitch chuckles, "don't keep me waiting."
"You could have been a perfect weapon", Mitch lifted Cass up and glared, "to bad Aramais weakened you."
"Buzz me in, I need Aramais now", Andy ordered as he ran past the monitor room, "shut down the facility, Mitch is out. We can not allow him to leave the facility..... no matter what."
Aramais looked up in shock as Andy rushed in.
"What happened?", Aramais saw his worried face.
"Mitch...out.... has Cass captive.... wants you. I'm sorry", Andy pleaded through breaths.
Aramais stood up quickly, "shit."
Aramais ran with Andy closely behind.
"I'm sorry I... I didn't know what else to do", Andy apologized, "I was so worried for Cass, and the guards can't do anything with Cass in the way."
"It's fine. So you're aware....I'm killing Mitch, he must be destroyed", Aramais ran faster, "I'll take my punishment or death happily knowing I killed the son of a...."
"MITCH!!!", Aramais ran into the room.
Mitch turned just in time to see Aramais running full speed at him.
Mitch took an aggressive stance toward Aramais. He threw Cass to the side.
Andy quickly ran to Cass and dragged them to a group of guards.
"Guards, whatever you do, do not hit Aramais", Andy yelled, "he's our only hope", Andy watched with wide eyes as Mitch and Aramais ran into each other at full force.
Aramais ran at Mitch again. Before he could react, Mitch lifted his leg and thrust their foot into Aramais's chest.
Aramais heaved as his ribs broke from the impact.
Aramais jumped back. They ran forward in a different pattern.
"The problem here is we were both trained similarly. You have no secrets", Mitch laughed as he dodged every attack Aramais threw, "and when I'm done with you, I'll target Cass, then Andy, then Whumpee. That blasted Director will watch his staff drop one by one until it's just me and him. He'll be shaking under his desk when I come knocking."
Aramais wiped some blood from his mouth.
"Everyone you've learned to care about; everyone you want to protect. They will all die because you are incapable of stopping me. Their dead bodies will pile around yours. Maybe I'll paralyze you first... let you watch the hell I release on this facility. Unable to stop me."
Aramais quickly pulled off his brand new slipper and threw it at Mitch.
As Mitch dodged the attack, Aramais ambushed him.
Aramais jumped on top of Mitch, they both fell onto the floor.
Aramais raised up both of his fist and slammed them onto Mitch's chest repeatedly until Mitch managed to kick him off.
Mitch grabbed Aramais legs and slammed their fist onto Aramais's knee.
A loud crunch was heard through out the room.
Aramais screamed as he rolled away and tried to stand.
"Aramais, no", Cass yelled, "please stop, let him have me. He wants me."
Mitch panted as he stood, "you're going to die for that."
Aramais grunted as he finally managed to stand. He eyed the Director. He limped a few times, unable to put weight on his leg.
The Director's heart sank. Watching Aramais fight for everyone's safety felt unreal, 'we are supposed to be protecting him. Why are we just watching?', the Director worried for his friend. 'My friend', he had never thought he would be able to call Aramais a friend, but here in this moment he realized just how close they had become.
Aramais hopped forward, but stumbled to the floor.
"Give up Aramais, you can't win", Mitch started to walk toward Aramais, "let me finish this."
Aramais watched Mitch get closer, he mustered the strength he had left to roll away.
"So you're just going to run from me now?", Mitch chuckled as he followed, "how embarrassing. To think you were supposed to be like me. You are a joke. This place weakened you... or have you always been this weak?"
Aramais yelled as he got up, "I am nothing like you", he ran toward Mitch, almost like his knee was no longer broken.
Aramais swung an arm around but was caught by Mitch.
"Survival mode won't work for you", Mitch strained Aramais's arm until the shoulder was dislocated. Mitch then twisted Aramais's hand until he felt the wrist crack.
Aramais screamed in pain.
Andy's heart sank at the guttural scream.
"I did the same to Whumpee", Mitch whispered.
When Mitch released, Aramais crumpled to the ground. In the last moment, Aramais swept Mitch's feet from under him.
In a fit of rage, Aramais climbed on top of Mitch, grabbed his head, and twisted his neck abruptly.
A stomach turning crack echoed through the room.
Aramais stood up weakly, stumbled to the side, and fell to the floor.
Neither weapon moved.
Andy and the Director were first to run to them.
Andy started to check Aramais.
The Director sighed as he heard small gasps coming from Mitch.
"Aramais paralyzed him", the Director frowned.
"Aramais needs medical now", Andy checked for a pulse, "his breathing is shallow. I can here gargling."
"We need to move", the Director started to command the guards, "medical, lets go... hurry up."
Mitch was quickly put on an IV pain killer to take away any pain. He seemed to be fully alert still. Staring down anyone who got in his view.
The guards strapped him to the medical bed, even with Mitch being paralyzed. They would take no chances.
Andy watched with tears in his eyes as Aramais was rushed by.
It was found that he had internal bleeding. Fluid was rushing into his lungs. Broken bones, dislocated shoulder.
Seven surgeons gathered around Aramais and began working.
Cass and Andy sat on a couch near the hospital wing.
Caretaker came by.
"Are you two doing okay?", Caretaker knelt beside the couch.
"No... I shouldn't have gotten Aramais. He didn't deserve this. The guards should have handled this, I should have...", Andy sighed as tears came from his eyes, "now he is badly hurt and fighting to live. I don't want him to die", Andy's voice cracked.
"It's my fault, I got to close, and didn't think about Aramais's warning. It's my fault Mitch got out", Cass admitted, "it's my fault Aramais is hurt", Cass started to sob, "I don't even have a right to cry. I didn't listen."
Caretaker pulled them both into a hug.
"I don't think Aramais would have wanted it any other way. He is very wise. He knows you did what you had to", Caretaker patted both of their backs, "Aramais is strong and even stronger willed. He will be okay. He has some of the best surgeons working on him."
They sat in the hug for several moments.
"Oh, this was recovered from those cleaning up the scene", Caretaker pulled something from his pocket, "I was asked to return it."
Andy shook as he was handed Aramais's slipper.
"I forgot he threw that", Andy smiled weakly, "these are his new ones. He was so excited to wear them. I think the other one was still on his foot", Andy cuddled the slipper close, "he put them right on after we got in from being outside."
Cass' heart sunk as they watched Andy. They were the cause of all of this. They got to close.
'It happened exactly how Aramais said it would. Right down to how I was grabbed', Cass stared at the floor silently.
The Director came by, "okay, I just received a message from the doctors performing surgery on Aramais. He is still in surgery, but he is doing great", the Director looked relieved, "he will be contained in med for a while. The medical staff will take care of him. Andy will also continue his care as well while being in med. They believe he will pull through. He's a stubborn one. We all knew that."
Everyone looked at the Director with relief.
"As for Mitch...", the Director started, but was cut off.
"Did Aramais kill him" Andy asked quickly, "he vowed he would, and would take whatever punishment for doing it."
"Nope. Mitch is fully paralyzed. He also has internal bleeding from Aramais beating on his chest. We believe Aramais was trying to stop Mitch's heart, but didn't hit it enough. We have him comfortable, but", the Director held up his phone to look at a message, "I'm sorry Cass, but I am making the decision to destroy Mitch. With all of the damage he's done, he has put himself in this situation. He won't feel any pain, but he will be killed within the hour. I can't allow him to sit like that for long, so we will have to do it soon. Do you want to say anything to him? I believe he is still alert."
"Can you come with me", Cass looked at Caretaker.
"Yes, of course", Caretaker nodded.
"I don't want to see him, I will kill him myself", Andy looked down.
Once in the room Mitch was kept in, Cass walked closer to the bed.
Caretaker watched as Cass looked over Mitch's body.
Mitch watched him, anger spread on his face. The heart monitor was reading fast. You could feel Mitch's anger radiate through the room.
"I thought I did good by you Mitch, I thought I took really good care of you. You hurt me Mitch", Cass sighed, "you had a chance at peace, I was buying a bunch of books to read to you, and maybe even teach you how to read. You held on so tightly to the people that hurt you. You couldn't see what we were trying to do for you here. You said I would have made a great weapon. What I wanted to be was a great caregiver... for you."
Cass wiped a tear away.
Mitch's face turned to a different expression. Cass was unsure what it was though.
Cass turned toward the doorway to see the Director and a doctor coming in.
"The doctor is going to administer a lethal injection, this will kill Mitch painlessly", the Director sighed, "you both may want to leave, I have to watch to sign off", the Director sighed.
"Wait, can I do something while you administer it, I feel like this is the fair way to send him off", Cass stepped forward after watching the monitors connected to Mitch.
"Yes that's fine", the Director smiled comfortingly.
Cass pulled out a book from his backpack. He had grabbed it before coming to the medical ward to get checked out for any injuries.
Cass went to the side of the bed, and gently moved Mitch's head to look at him and not at the Doctor and the Director.
The Mitch's heart pattern had grown irregular again after he heard about the lethal injection.
"Don't worry about what they're doing", Cass whispered, "I'm sorry Mitch... I really am."
Cass started to read to Mitch.
He read through the administration of the injection all the way to the doctor pronouncing Mitch dead and the time.
Cass finished the sentence he was reading, they let a tear fall onto the page before closing the book.
The Director signed the paperwork then looked at Cass.
"That was a very nice thing you did, I think you helped him relax enough to go out easily", the Director patted Cass's back, "unfortunate circumstances, but I do hope he is able to find peace now."
"Why do I feel like I failed him? Why do I feel like I caused him to die?", Cass wiped their sleeve across their face.
"This isn't something you could have helped", Caretaker sighed, "this was probably always the plan, just to catch you off guard. Just like Aramais warned", Caretaker stepped over to Cass, "we all let our guard down occasionally."
"It happens, Cass. This honestly should have happened sooner, but I was hopeful", the Director sighed, "I will need to talk to you later about next steps."
Cass nodded
In the surgery room. They were almost done when Aramais's heart rate spiked. His eyes started to flutter.
"He's fighting anesthesia, he doesn't want to be under anymore", the anesthesiologist called, "I'm already pumping a lot in him. More would be lethal."
"Aramais, I know you're scared. Please don't fight this. You need to stay asleep. Don't wake up on me", the doctor tried to concentrate, "someone go get his caregiver, scrub them, and bring them in here. Maybe a familiar voice will help. He can't wake up. I'm still working in his chest cavity. We can't have him wake up while he's open. He'll go right into survival mode."
A nurse ran out, everyone stood.
"I need Aramais's caregiver", the nurse looked at the group.
Andy worriedly stepped toward the nurse, "that's me."
"Come with me, Aramais is fighting anesthesia. We need you to talk to him, we aren't finished yet, and he can't wake up", the nurse explained as they walked back.
"I need to get you scrubbed and in there quickly", the nurse started to pull out gowns.
"Got it", Andy started to change.
Andy got into the room.
"Are you Aramais's caregiver?", the doctor talked over their shoulder.
"Yes", Andy started to come up, but saw all of Aramais's blood and dry heaved.
"Go up by Aramais's head and talk to him, tell him he needs to calm down. I'm hoping your voice will calm him."
"Nurse, put a drape up to separate us. We can't have the caregiver throw up on the patient", the doctor ordered.
Andy blocked his eyes from looking as he walked to Aramais's head, and the divider was set up.
"Hey Aramais it's me", Andy talked closely, "I really need you to settle down, they are doing surgery on you right now. You can't wake up yet. I know you've been out for a while. We just need a little longer."
"Everyone is okay, you did so good. I'm just sorry I-I pulled you out like that. Now you are so badly injured", Andy gently rubbed Aramais's head, "do you even like this lovey dovey stuff?"
"It's working, his heart rate is down", the anesthesiologist called, "keep it up."
"Surgery will be done in fifteen", the doctor called, "let's finish this up."
"Aramais, the Director told me you wanted some thick socks so you could wear them with your issued slippers. You had waited so long to get your thick slippers. The Director said you were embarrassed to ask for them. You didn't want to seem ungrateful. You are one of the most grateful people I know. I went to town the other day and bought so many thick socks for you. I actually went crazy getting you all kinds of things to keep you warm. Warm clothes, pajamas... you'll be set with warmth. I even found you a ridiculously giant blanket like Jaimie's. We'll open everything when you're feeling better", Andy couldn't help but sob as a tear fell into the mask.
"I know right now you'd be telling me not to cry, but this is my fault", Andy frowned, "I'm sorry."
"We're stitching him up now, he's doing good", the doctors worked, "the caregiver is doing good."
"Aramais loves his caregiver", one of the doctors spoke up, "he'd never admit it, but they have a strong bond."
"I'm glad. He may have just saved us from Aramais waking up too soon. I was scared he'd wake up in survival mode and go crazy while being surgically opened", one of the doctors frowned, "he did a great job."
"Is he going to wake up soon?", Andy's lip quivered.
"Soon", the doctors confirmed, "it's up to him when his eyes open, but we did our part."

Cass ran into Aramais's monitor room and set their things down.
"Good morning", they spoke over their shoulder.
"Good morning", the guards didn't even turn around, "you're late."
Cass sighed as they readjusted a few things.
'This is a problem', they reached up to their face as they thought, 'Mitch and the guards watching him already said it looked bad. Now I have to deal with Aramais today.'
"Andy is already in with Aramais. You can go in when you're ready. He's just eating breakfast", a guard turned and saw the ice pack, "what happened?"
"A problem at school. I stopped by the med wing to get it checked. That's why I'm late. I also had to check on Mitch, but he was taken care of already", Cass sighed, "does it look bad?"
"Uh, it doesn't look great. I don't exactly know how to answer you", the other guard frowned, "just wait until Aramais sees it."
"I already know", Cass groaned.
"Alright let's get it over with", Cass turned to go to the entrance.
"Cass is entering Aramais's holding room. Permitted item in hand... an ice pack."
"Ice pack?", Aramais turned to Andy, who shrugged.
Cass entered after the buzzer.
Aramais's jaw dropped the moment he saw Cass.
"What on earth happened?", Andy stood up and offered his seat.
"I swear if it was Mitch", Aramais frowned.
"It wasn't Mitch.. he's the one who told me to go to med to get checked before I came in here", Cass looked at them angrily.
Aramais watched Cass sit.
"What happened then?"
"I believe I've mentioned before that one of the bullies from my high school goes to my university", Cass sighed, "I've been waiting for them to do something to me. Today was the day. I had to drop off some books to my teachers. The ones I've already taken my test with for graduation. After that, the bully chased me across the campus. Thankfully, one of the security guards caught it happening. Unfortunately, I had already gotten hit a few times before they were stopped."
Aramais grew more irritated as Cass explained.
"I'm alright though, I'm used to this", Cass held the ice pack on their eye again, "pretty soon, I'll be doing my dream job, and I won't have to deal with them anymore."
"Still, you shouldn't have to deal with that at all", Aramais sighed, "bring them here one day. I'll teach them a lesson."
"No way. I'm not showing them where I'm working", Cass grinned, "I'm almost out of there. I'm so ready."
Cass followed Andy to the cafeteria.
Everyone gave Cass a concerned look as they walked by.
"I wonder how many of them are questioning if one of the weapons did that to you", Andy grinned.
"Should I get a sign that says 'no this happened at school, not here'. Mitch was worried about it", Cass pointed out, "he cares, even if it's a little."
"I think Aramais was worried to", Andy nodded.
After the cafeteria, Andy led Cass back to the med wing.
"I was just down here", Cass mentioned.
"I know. I need more equipment for diabetes management", Andy started to fill out forms.
"You have diabetes?", Cass frowned.
"No, Aramais does", Andy looked up, "oh, you didn't know that?"
"No", Cass shook their head.
"It's a pretty recent discovery", Andy looked over some notes, "so don't feel bad. I had started checking his sugars regularly a while ago. He had several signs that concerned me. Especially when he talked so much about being shaky. So I recorded all of his sugar logs, and I gave them to the doctor. The doctor checked and confirmed my concerns. We started monitoring his blood and adjusted his diet."
"What signs did you notice?", Cass looked over the papers Andy had just filled out.
"He would always wear his slippers. His feet were always ice cold. Now, he is waiting for thicker slippers to help. He has poor circulation. Constantly asking for snacks because of the shakiness. He said that's how he made himself feel better at the organization."
Cass listened.
"I guess that's your first lesson from me. If you notice something, you should definitely have it checked. The weapons are use to pushing through pain and pay little mind to it. That's what they were trained to do", Andy handed over the forms to the nurses, "or they had to learn to do things to patch themselves up. Such as Aramais carrying a granola bar with him on most missions so he could fix the shakiness."
Andy reached for the supplies.
"You are their advocate. They are good at hiding pain. You will have to step in and speak up for them. If you don't, they will continue to hide it until it becomes a bigger problem", Andy turned to Cass, "it's almost like you are parenting them. You are quite literally parenting someone who knows seventy-five ways to kill you in one move. You will be wearing a lot of hats taking care of them."
"I'm picturing a toddler running with scissors", Cass grinned.
"That is pretty much it", Andy laughed.
"So how do the weapons entertain themselves throughout the day? I didn't get to see it that well yesterday since Whumpee got sick", Cass grabbed a box from the cleaning shelf that was labeled for Aramais.
"They all do different things. With Aramais, he likes to talk to the guards and be part of their conversations. I go in there a lot and talk, or we take turns playing on my game. He's quite the gamer now", Andy thought about it and grinned, "I also fine-tuned a music playlist for him so the guards turn it on if he wants to listen to it."
"We go out into the hall too. He likes to watch out the windows, talk with other guards. Go up to the Director's office" Andy led them into the monitor room, "I'm also waiting on permission to take him to the library."
"I've been in the library, it's really cool", Cass grinned.
"I can't wait", Aramais's voice came through the speaker.
"Hey Aramais, I have the goods to check your blood. Are you okay if I come in and do that?" Andy started to pull out a few things.
"Yes, that's fine", Aramais came through again, "can I have some juice? It sounds good."
"Let's see how your blood looks first", Andy started for the door, "do you need water?"
"Yes please", Aramais answered.
Cass followed. They chuckled when Andy pocketed a juice box.
Aramais let Andy prick his finger, and they waited for the reading.
"Why can't he wear an omnipod or something to help read faster?", Cass watched.
"Unfortunately if he decided to, that could become a weapon. He could tear it off and hurt someone easily. The other reason is that the app has a public access point because it's online. This facility is classified, and only the government knows about its existence. Aramais doesn't exist outside of here and can't be on an app. We would have to have the supplies shipped to us", Andy read the sugars and handed Aramais the juice, "it's a safety violation and a privacy violation."
Aramais struggled to open the juice.
"Need some help?", Cass grinned.
"Yes please", Aramais sighed, "fingers are struggling today."
Andy looked at Aramais's hands.
"They're just cold and stiff", Aramais frowned, "I don't want the heat on though."
Cass handed over the juice.
"Thankyou", Aramais grinned.
Cass chuckled, "I've had a lot of problems in the past with those things."
Aramais nodded, "unfortunately my fingers have been broken so many times. Plus the doctors say I have poor circulation as well."
Cass pushed Aramais into the hall and waited for Andy to come out.
"Okay everything is cleaned up", Andy dropped the needle in the sharps container by Aramais's room, "who's ready for a walk?"
Cass pushed the chair around until they passed an elevator.
"Aramais have you ever been in that elevator?", Cass pointed, "it's really cool. At a certain point, you can look outside."
"Not to my knowledge, unless I was unconscious. I'm not a big fan of tight spaces. I could easily go into survival mode", Aramais grinned, "though it sounds cool to see. We probably shouldn't."
"I agree", Andy grinned.
"I would not want to be in an elevator with you doing that", Cass quickly walked past, "so do you want to look out a window?"
Aramais laughed, "yes, that sounds fine. We can go to the normal one, there's a bench by it so you both can sit."
Andy and Cass sat and watched as Aramais looked out of the window.
Suddenly, they heard Jaimie scream for Aramais.
"What the heck", Aramais tried to turn their neck to see, "what's happening now?"
Jaimie was already running to Aramais before Cass and Andy could react,
Jaimie plopped into Aramais's lap and buried her face into his shoulder.
"Jaimie, oww, what happened? Are you okay?", Aramais frowned, "you're shaking and sopping wet.... and naked."
Mcgee quickly pushed Jaimie's chair up, but cowarded back a little when Aramais glared up at her.
Aramais noticed a towel in Mcgee's hand.
"Anyone care to explain what the heck is going on?", Aramais looked down at the shaking weapon cuddled onto his lap.
"She tried to take a shower", Mcgee started to explain, "it was going well until she put her head under to start cleaning her hair. She fell to the floor and started to cry uncontrollably. She wouldn't let anyone touch her, which is why she is soaked. We weren't sure about sedation. She agreed to just go back to her room unrestrained. She saw you and made a run for it. Losing her towel in the process. She didn't want to get dressed."
Aramais finally realized what had happened.
"Okay, it's okay", he tried to comfort.
"No its not okay", Jaimie cried, "it's not okay that I can't comfortably take a shower. Now I'm cold, soaked , and uhm, sad."
Aramais nodded, "I'm sorry Jaimie, I really am."
Aramais looked at Mcgee, "didn't she get some kind of blanket?"
"Yes", Mcgee nodded.
"Could you grab it? She can stay here... if it's okay. As long as she takes her elbow out of my ribs", Aramais groaned, "let's cover you with the towel as well."
Jaimie wiggled around a little to get comfortable, then huffed in annoyance.
"Thankyou", Aramais whispered in relief.
Mcgee came back with the blanket and showed it to Aramais.
"That thing is huge", Aramais gasped, "you needed that big of one?"
"It's soft and I like it", Jaimie pouted and took the blanket from Mcgee, "thankyou."
"You're welcome", Mcgee smiled as she helped cover Jaimie up.
Jaimie cuddled into Aramais's chest again and sniffled.
"It felt like...", Jaimie whimpered and stopped talking to think.
"I know", Aramais whispers, as he rests his chin on her head, "I'm sorry. It's not right... how we were treated there. I'm trying my hardest to find a way to make this manageable for all of us. I just need more time."
Jaimie sighed sadly, "I just wanted to be cleaned. I feel so uncomfortable."
Aramais nodded, "do you see the snow falling outside?"
Jaimie lifted their head to look, "I wish we could run in it."
Aramais nodded.
Aramais was pushed to Jaimie's room.
Jaimie wrapped their blanket around themself as they got off of Aramais.
"Thankyou Aramais, I feel a little bit better now", Jaimie sighed, "I was uhm... frustrated", Jaimie looked up at Mcgee questioningly.
"Yes, that is the correct emotion", Mcgee nodded, "let's get you dried the rest of the way off and get some comfy clothes on. Then chips."
"Chips?", Jaimie smiled, "I can have chips."
"Yes" Mcgee nodded.
Aramais was backed up a little so they could get through. They watched the door close.
"I'm afraid I need to get dried off too", Aramais looked down.
Andy also looked.
Aramais was damp all over his front.
Cass got lunch together for Mitch.
"Hey Mitch, I got some food", Cass set a few things beside a small opening in the bars for Mitch to grab.
"Looks good", Mitch reached down, "I haven't had chips in a while either."
"You like chips then. I'm glad", Cass sighed in relief, "the other caregivers buy snacks out of the vending machine for the weapons. I wasn't sure if you would like that too."
"That explains why the three of them are chubby now. A treat here and there is good, but I won't give in very often to snacks", Mitch opened the bag, "I will enjoy these though."
Cass nodded.
Andy was playing with their game when Cass got back into the monitor room.
"Hey, how did it go with Mitch", Andy looked up.
"Good, I gave him a bag of chips which he liked", Cass sighed, "what's Aramais doing?"
"Reading", Aramais answered through the radio.
"I finally got to take him into the library. He had a hard time just picking one", Andy laughed.
"The librarian let me have an account so I could list all of the books I wanted", Aramais looked up at a camera.
Andy chuckled, "you've created a monster, Cass."
"Sorry", Cass laughed.
"We probably won't be getting Aramais to do too much more today. I'm probably going to have to peel that away from him for dinner", Andy looked up at the camera and saw Aramais nodding, "I don't think there is to much more to do right now."
"I actually had a question from earlier", Cass interrupted, "I just remembered."
"Okay, yes", Andy nodded.
"Earlier Jaimie seemed confused when she was explaining how she felt frustrated. She looked at Mcgee for possible assurance", Cass watched Andy turn the game off.
"So Jaimie was grabbed at a very young age", Andy started to explain, "we develop our emotions at a certain part of life. We learn how to process those emotions as we grow. Jaimie didn't get a chance to learn how to do that. Which is why she can seem overly dramatic with her behavior, or she also has a hard time knowing how to react to certain things."
"They were trying to create an emotionless weapon. They grabbed young children and pushed them away from having any emotions. They were punished for crying, laughing, showing anger. Their training was horribly rigorous", Aramais spoke up, "they also denied those young ones any education to make them easier to handle. Weapons are more manageable when they don't know how to think."
Concern spread over Cass' face, "I didn't realize, so that explains why she has such a bubbly personality or has a huge fit when something doesn't go right."
"Precisely, Mcgee is working with her to learn those emotions. She has to learn to process them though", Andy stood, "Mcgee also plans on teaching her so she can have some sort of education. It won't be tremendous, but she'll be able to do some math and reading, maybe science even."
"I'm proud of her.", Aramais continued, "she didn't give the facility what they wanted. She suffered greatly to hold onto herself. I'm glad she did that. Mcgee has been able to rebuild her back up. To fix the parts that were almost destroyed."
Andy grabbed a few things, "you'll be able to learn more tomorrow while you work with Mcgee. I think you'll be amazed by Jaimie. She has done a few things for the weapons unit with her new found voice."
"What are you doing now?", Cass frowned.
"I'm going up to my apartment for a few minutes. I need to do something", Andy sighed.
"He means he has to use the bathroom, and is too good to go down here", Aramais laughed.
"Aramais", Andy glared at the monitors.
The guards and Aramais laughed.
Andy rolled his eyes, "I'm not going in your room if that's what you mean. The bathrooms down here are always busy, so I just run up to my apartment."
"The guards typically look away. I don't really care though. They want to watch they can. I have no shame at this point in my life", Aramais laughed again, "after what I've been through. Having a camera watching me use the bathroom is the lease of my worries."
"Do the guards look away?", Cass eyed the guards.
"When we have time to. Sometimes he's up and going before we can react. He's got to go when he's got to go."
"Yuck", Cass frowned.
"It doesn't bother us. It's a natural thing all of us have to do. Not much we can do about it either. The weapons are under twenty-four hour surveillance, which is not much time to use the bathroom privately", one of the guards turned to Cass, "you're in the wrong career path if that grosses you out. I've seen so much worse than that."
Everyone looked at the monitors. Aramais continued to enjoy their book. A sly smile on their face.
"I don't know what you're doing... at least until dinner", Andy went to the doorway, "since Aramais outed me and everyone knows what I am doing, I will be taking my sweet time up there."
Aramais laughed loudly.
"I can see if Caretaker needs any help. Whumpee might be sick still", Cass grinned at Aramais.
"You could do that if you like. Sorry, I guess Aramais gave you a break today", Andy grinned.
"After yesterday.... it was much appreciated", Cass nodded.
"You're welcome", Aramais called after them.

17, 19 & 27 for Aramai?
Thankyou so much for the ask.
17. Do they have a squick in their job? Something that bugs them (like blood under their nails) or pisses them off?
Aramais does not like to waste time. Anyone who got in his way would be quickly taken care of. He has had to learn to calm down while in containment.
19. Do they have good aim?
Yes, anything in his hand is a weapon. He believes in head shots.
27. Can they blend in on a civil and normal environment? Do they know how to use a phone/ buy groceries/ whatever is normal in your setting? Can they get by low key or would they catch attention?
As long as his survival mode doesn't get triggered he would be fine amongst civilians. He has a little more control over it, but he hasn't been allowed to be in an uncontrolled situation for a long period of time. Things would be destroyed if they lost control.
Sp Special Containment part 23
Aramais's eyes squinted open.
"To bright", he groaned, "imph."
A nurse clicked the overhead surgery lights off while others worked nearby.
"What happened?", Aramais looked around, "I was in survival mode. I don't remember, mmm, anything. It's really hard to breathe and swallow."
"You were in bad shape after the fight. Doctors rushed you into surgery. You had several surgeons working on you", the Director grinned weakly, "I've never seen that many doctors working on one person."
"I'm special I guess", you could see Aramais grin under the oxygen mask.
"Oh good, your sarcasm is still in tact", the Director sighed in relief, "I was very concerned about that. You had to be incubated during the surgery because of how bad your lungs were. That's probably why your throat hurts. Honestly, you're going to be sore for a while. We took the tube out, so you wouldn't panic."
"What happened to Mitch?", Aramais frowned, "I don't remember much after survival mode."
"So, he managed to dislocate your shoulder and break your wrist. I don't know how you did it, but you managed to get him on the ground afterward. In one swift move, you broke his neck", the Director watched Aramais shift, "you paralyzed him."
"I meant to kill him", Aramais made a disgusted face.
"It's been done already", the Director sighed and watched Aramais's face change.
"You completely paralyzed him", the Director nodded, "we put him on an IV to kill the pain. You were in surgery when I signed off on it. This should have never happened. I had to make the decision to protect the facility and the people inside and outside. I wasn't sure if this could happen again, and I didn't want to chance it. You almost died Aramais, and that would have been on me."
Aramais nodded, "I understand, I'm just surprised you did it."
"I didn't have a choice. He wasn't exactly in good shape either. I couldn't let him die from the injuries. He was given the lethal injection. He died painlessly", the Director frowned, "Cass read to him while he went out."
Aramais looked around again, "wait Cass, are they okay... and Andy?"
"I'm right here", Andy stepped around from the bed, "I've been here since the end of surgery."
"You were fighting anesthesia and almost woke up during surgery. I came in and tried to calm you down. I never want to see you like that again", Andy's voice broke as they tried not to cry, "I am so sorry for pulling you out like that.... you didn't deser...."
"Andy, it's okay. If you didn't, Mitch would have killed all of you. If he did this to me, imagine what he would have done to everyone else", Andy frowned, "I am always ready to protect you and the others here in the facility. This is my home, and you all are my family now... like it or not. You did right by having me go against Mitch."
Aramais looked around as best he could, "am I missing Cass?"
"He's uh, in the facility. I don't think he will be around for a while. He's too nervous to see you", Andy frowned, "he's shaken up bad."
The Director nodded, "he also probably thinks this was his fault."
"I did say the lesson would be hard", Aramais sighed, "if you see Cass tell them I want to see them. I have a job for them."
"A job?", Andy questioned, "if you need me to do anything I will, I promise I will."
"No its nothing hard, I just need them", Aramais groaned, "ouch... to do it."
"Okay, Aramais needs to rest", a nurse came back in, "everyone except the caregiver needs to get out."
"Wait, really quick", the Director turned to Aramais, "you will be in the med wing until you are cleared. The guards who normally watch you will be stationed here according to their normal schedule. Andy will continue his job and you will have nurses checking on you regularly. I am allowing you to be free in this room so you can heal. The doctors said that would be the best for you. The straps will irritate your wounds."
Aramais nodded, "I don't think I could do anything anyways. I'll warn them if survival mode is triggered."
"Great", the Director turned to leave, "thankyou again Aramais, you're a true hero."
"Thanks, I never thought I'd be called that", Aramais grinned.
Aramais's eyes fluttered open. They eyed the guards first. Then they glanced at Andy, who was asleep in the chair.
"Pss, Andy", a guard tapped on Andy's head.
"Hmm", Andy woke up, "oh, hey Aramais how are you feeling?"
"I'm okay, the drugs are good", Aramais grinned, "does Whumpee and Jaimie know what happened?"
"They do, and are very concerned. They want to see you as soon as possible, but we want to wait for a few days while you heal", Andy reached for a water cup and offered a drink to Aramais.
"That's not my normal cup", Aramais smirked.
"I'll get it later, I haven't left your side. Cut me some slack", Andy grinned.
"Cass?", Aramais coughed, "oww, ow. Ribs broken, why", he arched his back, which made it worse, "okay Aramais stop moving."
Andy watched worriedly, knowing he couldn't do much to help.
Aramais settled again, and looked at Andy.
"Cass is worried about being yelled at for not listening", Andy frowned.
"I'm not going to yell, I couldn't if I wanted to. As I said, Cass had to learn this lesson the hard way. Unfortunately, sometimes that means others will be impacted along the way", Aramais frowned, "I want to know that they are okay though."
A timid knock came to the door just then.
The guard opened it a crack.
"It's Cass", the guard spoke over their shoulder.
"Okay", Aramais sighed.
Cass came in and stood far away from the bed, "yo-you're not going to yell at me?", a knot tightened in their throat.
"Have I yelled at you once?", Aramais frowned, "I'm not one for yelling. I don't like yelling, remember? I try to teach, but there are times the student has to learn the hard way. You are currently learning the lesson I was trying to keep you from. Mitch would have gotten out regardless. It was a matter of time. I was trying to keep you from getting killed though."
"I'm sorry, it happened just like you warned. Everything", Cass looked down, "I'm sorry", they tried to hide their tears as their body shook.
"It's okay, Cass", Aramais smiled, "just like I said it was going to happen. Mitch had his escape planned. He was just waiting", Aramais sighed.
"Y-you said you had a job for me to do?", Cass bravely stepped forward, "I'll do anything."
"I was kind of lying, an attempt to get you to come in here. Though you seem to be better rested then Andy does", Aramais watched Andy slowly blink, "do you mind sitting in here with me while he rest. I think the nurses want a caregiver to stay with me."
"I can do that", Cass agreed, "Andy you do look really tired."
"Thanks Cass", Andy stood and stretched, "I'll be back in a while."
Aramais watched Cass sit down.
"Are you feeling okay. I know you were excited to take care of Mitch. I feel bad you got the hardest one", Aramais frowned.
"I'm okay, just a little hurt. It feels like a betrayal of trust honestly", Cass frowned, "I had hoped he would just fall in line and would like it here. I was buying a bunch of books to read to him and teach him to read. I was trying so hard."
"I know you were. Maybe something will come up for you to be able to do. Until then, I will happily let you read me any of those books you bought. I don't think I'll be able to hold up a book for a while."
"Actually", Cass reached inside their bag, "I have this one if you're interested, it may help pass some time."
"That looks like a good book", Aramais grinned, "I'm shocked you had it on you."
"I've been reading it to Mitch here and there. I also read his favorite part while the lethal injection was administered until he passed", Cass opened it to the beginning, "it's a good book if you're interested, I'll start at the beginning."
Taglist. As always please let me know if you want to be added or taken off of the list. It's not a problem at all.
