New oc alert everyone, meet Grammostola the post-war arachnicon cityspeaker!
Hi, I'm pretty new to this fandom and to transformers in general. I got invested in Prime (tho i'm not too far in) after playing your Mercy game with a friend (We got the neutral path!) Just curious, are there any transformers with multiple eyes? And do you have some facts about them like their specific species? I know it's random but I though I saw a spider bot with several sets of eyes once? I don't know their name though..
Sorry for the late reply, and if you're the one asking about Arachnicons, I'll combine the questions about spiders and eyes.
In the Aligned Continuity, I can only remember one bot said to have more than two eyes. Normally we see 1-2, though I might be forgetting one of the weird characters from RID2015 at the moment. There were two named Arachnicon characters in the Aligned Continuity and that one Airachnid repaint in RID2015. Airachnid has only two eyes, but Dr. Cogwheel, an Arachnicon medic in the Covenant of Primus who worked with Ratchet, had eight eyes. Their race could have some variation. It is not known if Dr. Cogwheel could control Insecticons, and it is never explained why Airachnid could control them (their origins are unknown and maybe their races are forged to coexist). But you can see Arachnicons can be good or bad considering Dr. Cogwheel used her webs to heal and close wounds, not trap and harm.
In other Transformers media like IDW, you will get more variation. Beast Machines Blackarachnia had multiple eyes (though some people think it looks awful!). You will catch other bots randomly with more eyes like Deathsaurus as well
Dear Vector Prime, Was Airchanid ever punished considering she was on one of Cybertron's moons? Were any of the surviving aliens given reparations? I feel like imprisonment wouldn't exactly fit her.
Dear Airachnid Asker,
Early into the rebuilding efforts, numerous Mini-Cons made efforts to recolonize Cybertron’s twin moons, their ancestral homeland. A reconstruction team headed by Sledge, Wideload and Yardarm landed to begin the long task of restoring Helpful City to functionality—but only a few cycles after landing, they disappeared. Subsequent search and rescue teams also went missing, and before long Cybertronian authorities quarantined the moon until they could determine what was going on—though this maneuver caused no small amount of friction with a number of hardline Mini-Con separatists who wanted nothing more than to return to their home and put the hated “bulks” of Cybertron behind them.
It didn’t take long for them to figure out what had happened—the starving Airachnid, who had long since exhausted her initial food supply, had seized upon the opportunity for fresh prey and baited each new morsel into a careful trap, growing stronger with each new victim she claimed. Soon, Drift assembled a heavily armed contingent of specialists to deal with the infestation. Pitted against these pest control specialists, Airachnid could hardly put up a fair fight, and the mutant Arachnicon soon found herself impaled upon the business end of Drift’s sword.
As for the second part of your question—unfortunately, the Autobots and Decepticons rarely deigned to notice the many organic species they shared their arm of the galaxy with, and the alien races that Airachnid had wiped out could hardly advocate for themselves. If only there could’ve been some kind of reconciliation effort—unfortunately, in the years that followed, the Cybertronian race evolved and regressed in equal measure, growing increasingly insular, and eschewed the affairs of the wider galactic community in favour of their own evolutionary wars.
