so did any of you grow up under the dictatorships of MENA countries and now you're in exile? cuz ive been trying to do activist things, even tho last time it cost me country and almost life, and super triggering, bas recently i was told that not knowing the history of resistance in america means i cant participate in anti-fascist things and bringing up syria just had them just say i was "arab privileged" NVM that im Arabized not arab, but y3ni maybe im missing smth cuz culture?
I canāt speak to a life in a MENA country, as I was born in the USA and have lived here my entire life here, but I can say that whoever told you you canāt participate in anti-fascist things is an idiot. You are allowed to protest whether or not you knowĀ āthe history of resistance in Americaā - I can guaranteeĀ most Americans don'tĀ know jack-shit about any of American history. And for theĀ āArab privilegeā thing, I'mĀ pretty sure that only applies to privilege over non-arabsĀ in the MENA, and has absolutely no bearing on American issues.
