my favorite thing about golden kamuy is how often there's a dude and his little guy. sugimoto and shiraishi. kirawus and kadokura. koito and tsukishima. tsurumi and usami (and tsukishima and koito). tanigaki and cikapasi

perhaps controversial but i think fukuzawa could save everyone if he gave amenogozen a little kiss. it's fukuchi's body. surely the home of a god is not immune to worship it once knew?

i don't think tsukishima kicking the wolverine gets as much attention as it should. what do you mean he ran up to a wild animal on the hunt and launched it??

thinking about koito calling tsukishima grim but saying it gently, the way you tell a stray dog it's too skinny. like you hope it will let you bring it home and feed it. like you pray the owner doesn't come to collect what's theirs because a good dog always comes when it's called, even if the one calling it is a monster

a detail i didn't think much of until i went through golden kamuy a second time is ogata saying he doesn't want to shoot asirpa's grandmother if he doesn't have to because he loves his. ogata had no reason to lie about that, so he must have had *some* affection for her, which makes his story even sadder imo. he really was so hung up on the love that was missing that none of the love he did get was enough

it feels in character that artists who draw askeladd don't have the usual fandom generosity towards hairlines. canon says his hair is going and you draw that. i respect the honesty
